Learn to Skate USA has teamed up with Rink Tank Interactive to bring you the Learn to Skate USA 'Skate Coach' app series for iOS!
The Skate Coach app series was designed to help skaters, parents, instructors and officials understand the standards set for the Basic Skills Program through the use of high definition video examples.
The Basic 1-6 app introduces the fundamental moves - forward skating, backward skating, stops, crossovers and turns. Upon completion skaters will have a fundamental knowledge of the sport, enabling them to progress into specialized disciplines of skating.
Whether in the comfort of your own home, traveling to the rink or during practice, you will always have a Skate Coach in your pocket!

Great coaching app!
This app has really helped my daughter excel in the Learn to Skate program. She has been able to practice outside of class just by watching these videos. Very helpful and informative. Highly recommend!

Perfect!
This app is absolutely perfect for not only coaches and their beginner skaters but as well as self-taught skaters. The video demonstrations are well executed in a way gay you can see exactly what you are supposed to do! It’s also great for assessing where you are!

These apps are great. Chock full of useful information and video samples. Easy to use if you're a coach or student. Groundbreaking app series that will continue to revolutionize coaching, but also allow skaters to have immediate reference to help them correct mistakes when not in lessons. Keep the updates coming!!!

Not bad
I like the videos but I wish there was a drawing tool. Some of my skaters have a hard time seeing what I'm seeing and if I could point it out by circling or drawing a straight line on the vid it would help so much. It would also have been nice if after releasing the slow motion it would pause. Can't have my students see specific positions if the video goes back to full speed when you release the slow motion.

Great app to use between lessons! Short, concise videos for each skill required for each level in Basic 1-8. Very affordable.

Basic skills
I was looking for a tool which would show a bench mark for how the elements should be executed to be passable. Unfortunately this application doesn't provide that reference. Since the elements are skated by skaters who are more advanced it is unrealistic to expect such levels of execution at the various levels. It is merely showing what the elements are. I guess it is a tool which is good for those who are new to skating.

Although it is nice to be able to view the levels, I was hoping to see skaters at each appropriate level demonstrating the passing average of each move. These young skaters looked as though they could have passed the preliminary moves in the field test.

Forget those $15 figure skating apps! This is the one you have to get! It shows how to preform all the requirements to pass the levels. Sense I got this, I have flew through all the levels. GET IT NOW!!!!!

Not descriptive
Video itself is good, but there is NO verbal or written description to go along with the videos. With proper edging and weight bearing balance being a critical element, these videos need an UPDATE to either include a verbal description or a basic written description along with each video of how to properly perform the movement.
