Bass Guitar! Hack 2.1.11 + Redeem Codes

Surprisingly, this is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for when I downloaded this app. Not a tutorial, just a layout of a bass guitar neck so I could try out some scales and riffs. BUT... Is it MEANT to be LEFT-HANDED?!? It's as if the bass was strung backwards. A re-examination of the app's icon leads me to that conclusion. They might have SAID something. And in the "Learn Songs" mode it seems to work well enough. HOWEVER... the position markers are on the wrong frets (2-4-6 instead of 3-5-7 etc). It's very badly tuned BETWEEN G and G# on the top string (between E and F on the bottom). I read rumors of a "settings" menu (for transposing or righty/lefty?) but it seems to be covered by an obnoxious and obstinate banner ad along with all the others that pop up constantly. The "Play Bass" mode is even weirder. They reverse the strings(!) but it's still upside down. I can disable my phone's rotation, flip it, and tap only on the upper frets for righty playing, but then there's this horrible latency. I doubt that anyone at On Beat Ltd has ever played a bass guitar. I'm better off with a keyboard app. I'm TRYING to find a reason to like this app, but it's tough.

I lost my job and had a lot of free time to take up new hobbies. I downloaded the app, learned most of the basics and I was ready to go when I bought my peavey jazz bass. The app completely changed my life for the better

I would give it a better rating but is should be called, “Learning the BASSics”

Updated review: I figured out why I wasn't hearing sound at first and figured out how to play notes (my fault). It's an okay app, but I wish I could zoom out. It is very hard to play because you're looking at one small part of the fretboard at one time, and have to swipe to move. That results in hitting strings on accident.

I will give this app more stars if a zoom out or some better way to move along the fretboard is implemented. It is free, however, so thanks to the developer for making this.

first launch: crash. second launch: app opened and showed a little star icon at bottom left and an i icon at bottom right. briefly. and then an ad covered both buttons, so all i could see was the strings. no frets or anything else. plucked some strings to see what it would do, but the ad persisted. i tried clicking the edge of the star that was visible underneath it, but that just launched a window to purchase the app being advertised (something from AT&T). closed the window, which returned me to the app, but a different ad replaced the AT&T one. meh. there are plenty of other apps out there that don't have that issue, so i deleted this one.

Not a functional bass. The sound quality is sufficient for practicing purposes but with only three frets at a time there isn't much one can practice. The only option you can change is the color of the body of the bass- why did they bother with that feature? I can't think of a single use for this app.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate this app suxor! I have been trying to think of a worse app. I know there are some but can't think of one. The only redeeming thing about this app is no one could make one worse than it. There are no directions, you can't do multiple strokes and you can't play very fast.
I have to give it one star because otherwise it can't be rated. This app is so bad it should donate its stars to some less fortunate app and not subject us to it.

I like the bass app. I think its cool because i have a few friends that have iphones and we all sit around and make music. There is a electric guitar a bassist and a drummer, we do pretty good and i havent broke a string yet.. J/k, i do like the app though 4 star rating.

I had this app for not even 5 minutes and 3 ads pop up. Oh and these aren't your typical ads. You HAVE to watch a 15 second video clip and you CAN'T skip it. You can only play the four open strings and they sound klangy and metally. Absolutely terrible sounding. If you want to play bass, I suggest getting a real one and not getting this app.
