I love this game but it is definitely a pay to win/play game. If you try not to pay and just free to play and stack energy for long period of time it’s frowned upon because stacking energy discourages players from spending. I’ve also noticed some of my friends being banned from the game and they get zero communication from support in tickets or they are blocked on Facebook messenger so can’t contact Penny that way and emails to SafeLaneGaming are ignored. However people in top troops can get away with much more than a normal players and a blind eye is turned to them. So if you’re going to play this dying game do not spend a penny on it and you’ll have no regrets up until u hit the Lost Temple cap and there’s nothing left for you to do. SLG should be much more giving to the players still keeping this game alive. With only 8,000 people playing events now days it wouldn’t hurt to be a little more generous to the community it’s not like you’ve got 20,000 people playing like last year. Increase drop rates on spins increase the stone drops increase the trophy rewards benchmarks or at least advertise to get more players into this game

Honestly, I used to like this game. It used to be fun! But now I realize just how empty and boring it is. Not to mention, the nonstop pressure to BUY BUY BUY!!! The in-game advertising is crazy! It’s not ridiculous, but it is more added pressure for kids and parents alike to buy buy buy. I mean seriously? Only 3 points of energy to play and that either gets you 3 battles with low leveled monsters or 1 battle with slightly higher ones. I’m not saying this game in unfair, but the waiting time sure feels like it. As a new player, you really have nothing to do, especially if there’s no one around to talk to you. You can interact with the Rangers sure, but only if you have a goal to meet, other than that? No. Everything is designed that you need to continually battle in order to level up your monsters and yet, you need energy to fight. not to mention another monster just like your own just to evolve it, as well as more uncommon monsters! And if it’s rare or super, good luck finding it. I mean, I like the spins, that’s fun, but they’re rigged. They’re as random as an arcade game, which is to say it’s not. Even as I played years ago, it still gave me the same outcome on the so called “ random” spins. But having to connect to Facebook just to progress??? I mean seriously. You shouldn’t force players to connect just to be able to play. This game is cute but, those monsters aren’t worth the frustration.

Nowhere to go
I love this game and have for a long time I’ll play it and put it down for a while but then I’ll come back and play it, but now as I’m so far into the game it’s almost as if I have hit a cap, there’s almost nothing for me to do, I’m stuck waiting for a troop raid that will probably never happen, and I can’t really progress because there’s no way for me to battle more monsters and get stronger ones. I see people with absurd power ratings and legendary plus monsters but it’s almost as it I am stuck at where I am at unless I pay for something to get me boosted to where I can actually compete in the events for the real prizes. Also the fact that the very last mission in the lost temple requires a troop raid is basically leaving me at a spot where it will probably never happen so there’s that too, but the game is very fun and I still like to play it even in the year 2022 LOL. I hope something can be done about this or as a player I can be pointed in the right direction on how to progress as I have all but completed the game!

Current state of this game
The game has changed a lot since it debuted in 2013 but mostly for the better. I have however noticed that the community is begging for a two features to return to the game that has been in the game since day one and was recently removed. Those features were the ability to gift friends energy and to be able to stack energy. I think those two features could bring the game back to its glory days. The mentee feature should also be improved so newer players can be guided into enjoying the game more as well.
Update after developer response - gifting energy may come back following fb change to privacy settings and yes you can stack bought energy but you cannot stack non purchased energy most of the games gifted energy (cool luke, pvp token bought energy, and daily lost temple energy) can not be collected unless you are at 0 energy so please fix this! I’m not the only one asking I’m sure there are 20,000 other players asking for the same thing

Problems
While I do enjoy some aspects of this game, like the puzzles and the monsters, I hate the mechanics and quests of it. Now I know quest are vital in this game, in fact every game in I played has them and give out good rewards. It’s HOW the quest are presented and used in the game. Some quest are good and okay, but others like having to fight 4 monsters just to wash a stick and fight 8 monsters when my total energy amount is only 5? The energy limit and the buzzard time consuming quest are horrendous and once the ad offers go away, you’re done. The game gets aggravating with the second level because this wind walker guy just wants me to battle monsters all day and waste energy. Not to mention the God-awful waiting period for eggs to hatch. It’s a good mechanic for some games, but for this case it isn’t. For a puzzle and dragon inspired and Pokémon game not everyone is gonna wait an hour for that one gorilla guy to hatch.
That’s just my take on everything. I did enjoy the designs of the monsters, the graphics (okay graphics) and the puzzle mechanic, but some things are very aggravating here.

Lovely game it only needs to look more up to date
The game is completely lovely i am still playing after years coming from my iPhone 5 to my iPhone 11, I think the only thing that would make it 110x better it’s that u updated the overlay and also make the screen fully for every single phone cuase I personally hate to have black spaces on my screen and that shows how in love im with your creations I really think if the team developer do this they will get more people playing they’re game things soo simple like the overlay and upgrading some other old stuff would really refresh the game, bring more people and I keep it alive for more years I really trust you can do it guys and if you actually do it I’ll be happily to promote the game with every single person I know and rate a 5 stars (which is something the game deserves)

Events are regularly added, but it seems once you progress enough in the game, that’ll be all you have. You have nowhere else to go.
One of my personal biggest issue is since I’ve logged in, I’ve been in a troop I created a couple years ago. I would like to join a different one, but the issue is that I have someone in my troop that I can’t remove in order to disban the troop. Their profile says they haven’t been active in 25 years, which isn’t even possible lol. It seems new players don’t come along often, either, so I struggle to add anyone to my troop.

When the iphone 10 came out I thought they were just slow with updating the game to fit the bigger screen sizes… It feels so old and outdated with the black bars top and bottom when opening the app after a few years… I mean the iphone 14 is out already and still hasn’t been resolved? That shows the spirit and commitment of the developers. regardless, game is as it was many years ago when I used to play. Still pay to win for the grand majority of it, and based on a lottery system for what monsters you get and if not you have to grind many more hours for another attempt or get 5 more attempts for in app purchases. It begs for your card at every step of the way. I loved this game, it has so much potential, I’m at 400k PR which says something if you know anything about the game. I’ve experienced what there is to experience with it I just wish the developers kept up with it…

This game has so much potential and I know that if enough people find this game it will explode. There are A LOT of issues with the game though. The first and worst issue is that the game is dead. I can’t find anyone online or in the chat. The second issue is that the game has ads that pop up all the time that want you to spend money on the game. The third issue is that the game feels old and outdated.
I think that the developers need to make Battle Camp 2. Remaking the game would not only be epic but it would give the game a nice clean slate to build off of which it really needs. Maybe this game will explode but the developers will need to not only acknowledge them but they will also need to fix the issues of this game.

Im Leaving.
I keep on coming back to this game year after year just to see if this game became somewhat playable and enjoyable for f2p players like myself and I always end up disappointed to the fact that nothing’s change and it’s still hard to thrive in this game without paying. Im leaving this app again and I probably won’t be coming back… Its sad because this game has SOOO much potential to actually become a good game to play but the f2p system is garbage and I hope that the developers make at least some changes to better the experience like increasing the default energy capacity from 5 to 10 and decreasing the energy regeneration time, make special candies more accessible without paying for example. I will give this game one more chance a year later and if nothing has change, I’m leaving this game for good. 😞
