The companion app to Best Coast Pairings Tournament Organizer, the Best Coast Pairings Player App is a player's tool for locating, participating in, and tracking tournament results. The Best Coast Pairings Player App delivers on our mission making gaming events more immersive, informative and easier for everyone.
When an Event Organizer is using BCP TO, the BCP Player App aids participants at an event with everything from registration, to check-in and on through final scores, creating a seamless digital experience that is easy for everyone involved. With the BCP Player App, all users registered for an event can:

Remotely Check-in

Upload Army/ Deck Lists
Find Table Assignments
Remotely Record Round Scores
Review game Records, Scores, and Placings
Events are viewable to Event Organizers and Players that are registered for a current or upcoming event.
For users who may not be part of an event and want to see details of every event globally, we offer a subscription to BCP. Subscribers gain access to every event globally for all game systems. Every round, every Pairing and Placing, along with Lists and Decks users have submitted. Additionally subscribers gain BCP points monthly which are redeemable for discounts to events and your favorite retailers and advanced features like “List Search”. Subscriptions are available monthly, semi-annually, and yearly.
Subscription Terms:
– Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase
– Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period
– Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal
– Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase

Too good a design to be consistently failing
The player app is easy to use and, when functional, really great for the player. The reason I can only rate two stars is reliability, a pretty critical component for a tournament app. Both major X-Wing events I’ve attended that utilized BCP have been absolutely plagued by server crashes or inaccessibility, to the point where my most recent event reverted to simpler software to manage the event. I really hope the company can turn around its service and provide the product advertised, consistently. There is quite a bit of promise to the product.

I have used this software consistently for about 3 years now. My club and FLGS uses both the Player and TO app for our monthly AoS, 40k, Kill Team, and X-Wing events. Plus we ran our large annual even with 70+ 40k players simultaneously with a 30 personAoS event without any problems. I have noticed once that my fun was bugging a bit post app update but I just had to log out of the app and then log back in and it worked fine. As well when I ran my larger annual event anytime I had questions the BCP support team was there to help with answers. My group likely wouldn’t be running as many successful events without BCP.

Difficulties with subscription
Multiple times I have subbed up for a month, only to experience difficulties half way through the month with list searching and the app telling me my subscription had expired. However it shows my account is active and paid for on apple.
Recently I purchased a subscription again (received note of my purchase) for the start of 10th edition, for the app to tell me I cannot access lists because I’m not subscribed. Then when I go in to check my subscription, it says that it is still active. I don’t know what is happening with the app, but I would warn anyone from subbing up through it.

Needs a lot of work
I’ve used this app a handful of times a major X-wing miniatures events.
When the app works it’s pretty nifty. Getting pairing digitally is way better than having to print them out and fight through the crowd to see them.
But the app seldom works.
I recently attend an X-wing grand championship in Las Vegas. The tournament runner tried to use BCP but it stopped working after round 2. The TO at the event had to switch over to a more reliable platform to finish the event, which added a lot of time and made the event run longer than it should.
The user interface for this app is abysmal. It is ugly and unintuitive. Even their logo looks low budget. I don’t think a UX designer was consult when the app was laid out. And if they do have a UX designer, they should fire them immediately.
I would not recommend using this app for X-Wing events. Their are plenty of more reliable software tools available.

Consistently Poor Performance for 2 Years
BCP has consistently crashed and had errors since introduced into X-Wing in 2018.
It has caused multiple hour delays at several major events, to the point that it has only been used when absolutely REQUIRED by conventions, when BCP is the sponsor. BCP has had time to address this, and for whatever reason, has not.
X-Wing has many stable (and free) alternatives to tournament and data repositories, and its a shame BCP has not learned from them.

Changing the game
The bcp player app has changed the way many tournaments run. It’s improved pairing times, transparency, and ease of scoring. The folks working with the app are approachable and truly care about the community. The ability to follow large tournaments around the globe has been a true pleasure. I’ve used this app for 3+ years now to manage our local 40k events and it’s amazing! Tons of functionality, easy to use, and the developers are always willing and able to help when you need assistance!

Wish I got to use the app
Subscribed to the app and used 3 separate devises over the coarse of a week. Every single time I log in I can use any of features that need subscription. “Failure to connect to server”. I’ve used this app in the past and was a good tool but now it’s just a cash grab with terrible maintenance don’t recommend. Sad this is the only database
