STORY:

I'd give it 5 stars but...
It only gets 4 because despite the awesome music, responsive controls and great graphics occasionally my chopper would warp into hyperspace(?) and find itself at teleported at a completely different spot in the map. Played on 2.1... It seemed to happen more and more frequiently as I progressed in the demo (missions 1-3 -> no teleporting, 4... 1 time, 5...2-3 times, mission 6 - 3-4 teleports and 7 ... I lost count... Don't get me wrong, I still had fun with the newly introduced "randomness" factor but I imagine if that doesn't get fixed in the harder missions it may anger someone so much that they'd throw their device at the wall. That bug aside it's one of the best games on here.

Phenomenal!
This is the most intriguing free game I've played! I will admit, I have not played ALL free games in the app store, but of the ones I HAVE played, this one is outstanding. The graphics are great, I like the story line, and I appreciate the gradual combat. I've only played the first six levels, but I have been kept challenged and entertained. For me the latter is what counts. Someone mentioned that they feel the shadows are too heavy, and I agree they could be made lighter, but overall, this game is more fun than some paid apps I have played. Good thing my son has his own iPod Touch, otherwise he would take over mine to play this game. I am thankful that they made the lite version available. I look forward to other games from this developer!

OK, could use some changes.
The idea is good but some details need to be altered. These are things such as taking out the anime characters between levels and making wind actually change flight handling. Also, the calibration is very sketchy; Ive calibrated it in multiple positions and in all but one of them the copter will go in reverse at all times. Please fix this in a future update! I still gave this 4/5 stars because, relative to other free games, this is a good concept with good graphics and is executed fairly well. All in all, make some improvements but keep up the good work.

You guys have put together a wonderful app for all the testosterone prone individuals like myself. I have played this game multiple times both during company meetings and during my lunch break and I am amazed at how well written this game is. I would highly recommend to my brothers over in Canada that to get the paid version up in the top ten, have a fire sale like Pangea Software (Cro Mag, Billy Frontier, Enigmo and Bugdon 2) is currently doing and I would bet my government paycheck that you will make the top ten in under one week. Keep up the good work.

Fantasic! It has a certain classic feel to it, but still up to date. Some of the reviews claim it's confusing to fire the weapons, but I'd wager that they didn't read the directions... It's very easy, and fun! If I had a complaint, it would be that the game were too short, but as it is the free demo version, that's the point, I will be purchasing the full version.
Do yourself a favor and download it, don't take the naysayers word for it, it's free, what have you got to lose?

very entertaining
at first i couldn't figure out how to control the helicopter, but after 3 minutes i was breezing away and shooting targets. there's a "Metal Slug" tone to the cutscenes and characters (not the gameplay, though), which gives everything a fun, cheesy tone.
the chopter controls like one assume a chopter would, so don't expect to do fast turns. you pass by a landing pad or an enemy, you have to make a wide turn so you can aim again.

Very solid title with excellent controls.
I disagree heartily with the negative reviews. I have not had any crashing issues, and I find all of the controls to be both intuitive and one of the best implementations yet of control. Turn the phone one direction or the other, chopper turns. Tilt forward to go forward, back to go back, and tap in the corners where you don't have to worry about obscuring the action. I hope for more titles of this caliber.

Easy & fun to play
Blue Skies perfectly showcases the accelerometer on the iPhone, and how using it for the right purpose (steering a chopper) makes a game that much more fun. The controls are easy to use, the graphics are fun and reminiscent of old arcade flying games, and with levels taking a few minutes to complete it's the perfect game to pick up and play when you have a few minutes to kill.
Definitely a worthwhile application to have!
