One of the best dating apps
I used to think Okcupid was the best dating app because of its extensive match system. But it has become so left wing and like Tinder with requiring and prioritizing photos, that it isn’t so good anymore. More than one dating app focusses on MBTI personality types, but Boo seems to be the best in my experience. I love that it shows users’ Enneagram and zodiac signs too, gives you a description of each type/sign, lets you write long profiles, lets you display and search for people who don’t drink or smoke or do drugs. There aren’t as many local people on this app as the more popular dating apps, but that’s understandable. I’ve still found some local people, and I get to talk to people in other countries too. I haven’t encountered any scammers like there are on Coffeemeetsbagel.
Edit: Boo no longer lets you chat with people unless you verify your identity. This is a con for me because I prefer not to show my photo publicly to strangers who may do who knows what with it. I recommend to the developers that they just have a “verified” check mark or something next to people who have verified themselves, instead of preventing all chatting from people who aren’t verified. In my opinion, the best relationships are founded on compatible personalities, not appearance which fades over time. We’re all going to get old and ugly, so why should one’s looks determine who you date? Boo requiring photos makes it almost as bad as Tinder now. . . .

Great app one flaw though.
I love that this app has taken the typical model of locking basic features like texting and seeing who “liked” you behind a paywall and threw all that nonsense in the trash bin.
My only real concern is that the one feature I would like to have in my control is still behind a paywall, and that feature is the one that tells everyone your location. If you allow it access to your phones location features it will automatically show anyone watching the app realtime updates of the city your in. This can be used to help track you down. It can be used by stalkers who have learned where you work and where you live know where your at. I would much prefer this to be locked into a single location to help prevent this. Which is why I’ve denied it permission to know my location.
My only real concern is that the one feature I would like to have in my control is still behind a paywall, and that feature is the one that tells everyone your location. Update: I somehow got banned? I assume… there was no communication on it. I sent feedback asking as well as looked online, but I came to my own conclusion that this happened. There is no information regarding the timeline - is this a permanent or temporary ban? I wish there was more information readily made available and communicated on these things because I have matches that aren’t receiving messages from me, and I don’t know when I can communicate with them again… so they will likely unmatch me during this time period.

But it actually explains those to you as well as what types you would be compatible with and in what challenges could present. You’re able to fill in a bio and prompts similar to other popular dating apps like Bumble. But what those don’t have is a social media feature like Twitter and a live feed like IG that allows for hobby hashtags interaction with other users. You can also search for friends, and there is the option for global connections too similar to OKCupid. The only downfall is that it is so new, and there aren’t many users on it - hopefully that changes soon!

Would give zero stars if I could
The idea behind this app is great, but they’ve really implemented it as horribly as possible. They hire fake accounts and BOTS to promote their content in a spammy way all across the MBTI groups on Facebook, even getting several of them permanently zucced for spam. They don’t care, they just keep going. The developers of this app are unethical, and I wouldn’t trust them with my data or privacy for that reason. They don’t know what they are doing. Two years of SPAMMING Facebook to DEATH (literally for the groups they selfishly killed with their spam), and still less than 300 reviews. I don’t trust these people. They’re doing a LOT wrong, and I simply don’t trust the developers as far as I could throw them. Absolute trash. Someone PLEASE make a better MBTI based app. The ones doing it so far are FAILING (like these guys), and such an app is actually really needed! Just not one run by unethical, crappy programmers who leave their work full of bugs. The worst part? When you try to offer them feedback, they ask you to change your review to a positive one but they never actually fix the problem. So who knows how many of these reviews are fake as well, all of the five star reviews are in question, probably written by the same bots that they hired to spam Facebook. Scam much, Derek & Team?

Hard to give this app a proper review when it doesn’t seem to work. I had half a dozen matches on Day 1, but now it just says “no souls detected. Try expanding your filters” every time I open the app. My filters are pretty broad as it is but I tested changing them just to fix it and nothing.
The app will notify me that they have new people for me to see, but when I go to open it, it’s the same issue.
If it was actually functional, I’d only have one complaint and it’s that there are A LOT of myer’s Briggs information reserved for premium users. This is kind of dumb to me since I can just google myer’s Briggs to get more information. I get something has to be reserved for premium, but maybe I could at least have points I could spend to unlock them. And then I could either buy more points or get a little just from logging on and liking or whatnot. Anyway, I haven’t really had enough time to decide how I feel about the app since it’s completely unusable :/

It has a lot of potential
It has a lot of character and well in the right look, there are a lot of interesting and open people on here unlike most dating apps. It should allow you to just talk to people, I love the coin idea but they should give coins for being sweet and kind and getting ratings from other people(that aren’t public) like if someone says something sweet the receiver can hold the message and by them adding an emoji or somthing sends a person like 10 coins. It should have a donate section because the profit margins shouldn’t be like other apps where u have to pay to meet more people when some are bots. It should be after you find someone weither a friend or a lover you go onto your profile and donate a few bucks toward the next couple and so forth.

Things that make you go “Boo!”
Three things immediately come to mind when hearing the word “Boo.” 1. A lame scare tactic on Halloween. 2. A exclamation or expression of severe disappointment over a performers presentation. 3.An endearing term, or pet name for your lover. After using the app and setting out on learning just though very basic functions over the last week or so, I’ve become more and more comfortable interacting within its intuitive platform. There’s a diverse and extremely intelligent community within the users of the app. I’m to the point I can’t remember if it’s a dating app or just a social networking tool where and I learn something new with each visit. I am thoroughly impressed even with the limited non-paid membership. I would recommend this app to anyone.

3/5 Stars: Good, But Buggy
Issues:
1. I was given limited matches (about 5-6) for the FIRST day I had it but wasn’t given any after that point. It’s been about 4 days and the message displayed is “You’ve reached your limit on matches for the day.” It is extremely inconvenient.
2. The second issue was with message notifications. I would get notifications from the person who messaged me through iPhone banners, but when I went into the app, the message would not show up or refresh automatically. I would have to close and re-close the app to see the messages in order almost every time, even though my internet connection was intact.
I would also appreciate specific sounds for notifications through the app.
3. Messages come in from Person 1 while I’m responding to Person 2 in their chat. It gets really confusing.
Overall, I love the idea of Boo and have had a good experience so far, almost immediately. I’m a person that deletes dating apps rather quickly, but I can see keeping this one for a while. I can also see multiple people finding good matches here, depending on their openness and maturity levels. Users can see developers do care about the underlying purpose - to find great matches and partners - and that goes a long way.
It just seems to be buggy and that takes away from the entire experience, I’m sad to say.

Theoretically Good, Disappointing in Practice
I like the idea of a dating app that matches people based on personality type, shared interests, and such. But most of my potential matches are farther away than just across town. The algorithm paired me with somebody based on complimentary personality types… I never met him face to face, he was intimidating and brusque rather than engaging and friendly. He more or less said that his schedule precluded meeting face to face in the near future. I’m half convinced that he was a scammer.
I have met somebody else who began inundating me about his financial activity and gave vague and sometimes contradictory information about himself, in addition to the exuberant flirting, and we hadn’t known each other for a week. I’m sure that he’s also a scammer.
I don’t know whether it’s because it’s a relatively new app, but it’s been pretty disappointing for me, especially since I’m not in a position to travel halfway across the country just to meet a potential match.

Terrible app. False claims
What they claim is absolutely false it’s the same system over again where you have to pay to actually have a functional dating app and they said that genuine people can actually meet each other on here when reality that still isn’t true they’re basically lying when they say that hotties get all the lakes, and the DC people get thrown away and if that doesn’t happen on this app will it does. I wouldn’t consider myself the most attractive person on the planet but I’m very much aware that I’m still pretty attractive as I work very hard to make myself a very good looking guy. The problem is these apps are just money grabs leaving people with false hope don’t buy these and certainly don’t download them. They just want your wallet they could care less if you actually meet people I doubt that the person who made this app was thinking “let me actually help people get together.“ And was probably thinking something more of the lines of.“kaching$$$$”
