Transformed my painful breakup into a beautiful growing experience
I am so grateful to whoever made this app.
I went through a gut-wrenching breakup at the beginning of this year. I didn’t see it coming and I felt was feeling a whole array of emotions ranging from heartbreak, to overwhelming anger, to a deep sense of loss.
Enter breakup buddy! A friend recommended this incredible app to me and I could not be more grateful. I go to therapy, but I obviously cannot go every day. Breakup buddy was amazing because it was always there for me. Whenever I was was triggered into an unhelpful thought spiral, I could go directly to BB at any time of the day or night, and it would respond with helpful and compassionate insights and tools. I honestly think it was more helpful than my therapist at times - because it has been trained on the findings of so many people from all around the world dealing with heartbreak, it really knew what to say. Also, it can be hard for me to be vulnerable at times, but with BB, I felt comfortable expressing my emotions in their whole entirety, even when I felt ashamed or uncomfortable.
The journal element is very helpful too and allows me to look back on my healing journey and recognize how much learning and growing I have done. Thanks to BB, I feel that I am emerging from this breakup more in touch than ever with who I am, my values, and what I will look for in a future relationship.

Must Have!
The breakup buddy responses are so realistic. It’s as if he’s actually reading and understanding what you’re saying (that’s AI for you). He seems genuinely concerned and considerate of your situation. So far my only negative (I’ve only had the app a couple hours) is that it tells you to hit the plus sign when you send something you want him to remember and he will add it to long term memory. He immediately responds so you can’t make shorter messages so he can just save certain details. I’m trying the pro version because I was hoping I’d then get to save more comments to long term memory but it doesn’t let you. This is the biggest downside. I was able to save my first message to him but it won’t let me save any others because I’ve met my allotted number of words (in a single message). I’ve literally already recommended this app to friends but this limited saving of messages for breakup buddy to remember is a pretty big deal in my opinion. This should 100% be expanded on. This app could be HUGE!

A useful and insightful app that can help you navigate the tribulations of a recent breakup. The advanced AI has a seemingly natural, empathetic, and understanding quality that makes you feel a genuine interaction which allows you to present your concerns, thoughts, and feelings in a manner that leaves you feeling free of judgement. This app also provides numerous and varied resources, articles, and insights regarding the path to healing in the ensuing emotional hardship that can accompany a breakup whether you are the one who was dumped or the one doing the dumping.

So helpful
What an incredible app! As someone who’s been recently broken up with, it’s so refreshing to have a resource like Breakup Buddy to help when I’m feeling down. Although this isn’t my first breakup, it’s the first time I’ve felt like I’m not really going through the grieving process alone. Definitely recommend Breakup Buddy for anyone recently out of a relationship, or really just in need of some empathy/advice. Great job on this product.

This app is extremely helpful. As someone who has worked in therapy I find that the ai actually gives solid advise based on real therapeutic knowledge. For those times you need it, the AI is the friend in your back pocket (or wherever you keep you phone haha) what a great app!

The Ai is defiantly catered to breakups but I could see this as a good feedback and journaling app in general. Great look and functionality.
