I have one problem with this app.
Firstly, I’m mad because this app only lets you text are within 330 feet of you. This is very annoying because me and my brother were texting on this app, but when I walked to far away he hit his head and his leg on a mailbox and tried to text me and tell me, but I never received it.

Works okay, but has some bugs. Start screen says to go to settings to verify your phone number, but no option in settings to do so. Research says phone number is no longer required, but clicking on a contact gives you a notice “this contact is not verified.” Also, no way to add contacts. Click + button, fill in details, save.... no contact listed. Would like to set this up for emergencies when cell service is unavailable, but definitely need to be able to add contacts to be useful for that. Also, quick testing of the range is limited to about 50 ft. That could be Bluetooth limitations, though.

Terrible, don't download
Me and my sister were playing Hide and Go seek, and I was texting her. Then, I fell and hit my head on concrete and tried to text her. And I was in the 330 feet radius but it didn't send. And I had to walk home on my hurting leg,

Getting Better
With the app being overhauled in June, I wanted to take a second look. The app continues to look great and I assume works well (not been camping since Covid-19 hit). While the app is good for casual communication, you’ll want to remember that messages are not encrypted. Additionally the company does store your contact into on their servers. When I clicked to view their privacy policy, I was taken to a dead link. So I still have reservations with that functionality. That said, you can use the app in a “open broadcast” kind of way, which doesn’t require sharing any contact info. Which is nice. Reminds me of the old Nintendo DS pico-chat rooms. Could be fun / handy on planes, trains, ect

Great Idea
There are plenty of times where people may not have service and need to contact someone. This is a wonderful idea, but people who do have service will be annoyed with the ads. Can we please pay a small price to get rid of the ads? Also I get logged out a lot. Would be great if it would remember us and our contacts better. Even if it saved the info in our files somewhere would be good. Messages don’t always send right away and if you can’t get it to send at all, log out and back in.

Please add the ability for users that have internet to act as bridges to link users without internet and allow them to communicate with other users online.
If you have trouble getting this app to work. Logout, delete the app, and re-download. Then be sure you have internet the first time it launches and make sure Bluetooth is on first. Make sure you choose a new nickname if your first setup attempt didn’t work.
Please add the ability for users that have internet to act as bridges to link users without internet and allow them to communicate with other users online.

Keeps getting better!
I’ve been a casual user of this app for years as I believe their mission is really compelling— and I wanted it ready for use if I were in a situation without internet. The app keeps improving security and encryption — and also adding features. It is a super-useful part of my messaging with close friends... looking forward to a future with even more Bridgefy connections!
