Requires CamRanger hardware and normal CamRanger app. This is NOT the normal CamRanger app, but is for clients and others with their own iOS device to be able view images/live view at the photographers discretion.
Really like this idea, so I can continue using a bigger screen on the iPad as my main viewing device - along with remote settings changes and shooting - while having my client use the share app to their device. Then they can see what I’m doing and give their input from the other room without getting in the way. Just wish there was a share2 app to work with the faster and more reliable camRanger2.
Timmer4life,
Cool idea
Great idea but there should also be another button to be able to see all the files after turning on the Camranger share app not just from the point of when you open the share app and then view only the files from then on -from the camranger app. Also, neither the camranger app or the share app are up to date with the new iPhones. Very large text at the top for the time and battery info. Needs to get that up and running. Until that is fixed, the outrageous price for something I could make myself, I'll give you a 3. Until then, make it worth me spending $300 for this mediocre product. A little disappointed in the high price and the not up to date software.
Rhmachote,
CamRanger Share Fantastic
I've used camranger for about 6 months and thought this is the best tether solution available today; the only con was only one device could be connected at a time, no major issue though. Now SHARE...multi devices at once. This is a great feature while shooting in studio or any where you may want multi people viewing your work as you shoot. This is one great tether set up, not too expensive and works as advertised...if you tether frequently you will simply fall in love with this. I shoot with a Nikon D800 and works perfectly!
Class action lawsuit?,
Misses the mark... again.
One simple update would make a huge difference: the ability to print from the share app. The ability already exists in the main app, so implementation should be fairly easy. Otherwise, what’s really the point? So clients can see their images before I show them their images? This needs more functionality. Oh, and a less snooty developer as well. After a few emails I find the character behind the person taking credit for CamRanger to be a bit pompous!
Sarasang,
Yes
Finally a product that gets better after you buy! I'm shooting to my laptop and a separate iPad in the studio for clients to proof. It's great!
Pi King,
Won't work for me
I have had Camranger for about 3 years, and it works as advertised. One drawback of Camranger is that it can only connect to one device using camranger app. Camranger Share is supposed to be an app that allows more than one user to review the images being sent out from the Camranger. I have followed the instructions, downloaded the latest firmware to the. Camranger, and I have never been successful in using it. It searches but never connects. Useless!
Jim Richardson NG,
Doesn't Connect
Can't make it connect. Updated firmware, etc. Tried all the conceivable startup procedures. Tried magic chants. If I can't make it work here in the office God help me in the field.
