With the CarreraRace App, the market leader worldwide in the car racetrack field unites legendary racing fun with the latest technology. using the AppConnect Bluetooth adapter and the Carrera Race App, you can connect your DIGITAL 124- or DIGITAL 132 race tracks directly with your smart phone or tablet and experience motor sport the smart way.
Just download the Carrera Race App, connect the Bluetooth adapter to the control unit of the Carrera race circuit and you are ready to enjoy the next level of racing fun!
If you want to get directly into a race, select "Quick-start race" and start straight away with preset race conditions. Set up your individual driver profile with photo and use the Carrera Race App to follow all relevant information on the race progress of the drivers taking part.
Create your entirely personal motor sport weekend: your car racing championship! As in a real race weekend, you complete training, define the starting grid positions through qualifying and then take part in an exciting race with your friends. Decide between fixed time and fixed number of laps and save your race results directly in the Carrera Race App for a detailed race analysis.
At the close of each race, the best times can be taken directly from the app and shared with your friends - the competition for the best lap time is opened!
The main functions of the Carrera Race App:

Not user Frendly
Disappointed, first the live race view is too small, we should be able to see the positions and lap timing you put the tablet in a reasonable distance, second there is not enough notifications during the race, other free apps let you know who is on the lead, best lap time, last lap and who won. Others also have yellow flag, which can be improved to reduce the speeds automatically to a bare minimum, to allow to time to put the cars in the track, would be nice if you have a voice recognition and the drive just call “yellow flag”. Other improvements for example at the end of the race the speeds should be also reduce for one extra lap and after that stop all cars. This is even more important if you are using an autonomous car. I may have other ideas but you leave in case you want to talk.

Poorly written, buggy app
App does not work as Carrera describes. "Quick-start Racing" button makes you re-enter most of the racing info. Not really a "Quick" start. The "Performance Test" does not work (requests you to enter a circuit but does not list your entered circuits). The reason I purchased the app required "Carrera AppConnect" bluetooth connection component was for the advertised racing sounds and commentary. The app does not provide this feature. Carrera should be ashamed to sell (app is free but you have to buy the Carrera AppConnect device) such a poor feature that barely does what it is advertised to do. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

The idea behind the app is good. Extend and enhance the physical experience with an app. The execution is not close to what it could and should be.
- not intuitive: I have teenagers using it for a minute..then drop it cause its too much time to get through it

- introduces drivers that have not been created
- ..just too. Many things that are just not what any app nowadays should offer
This has gotta be revamped with not an overhaul, but a from scratch built. It can be the engagement extender for a physical game. Today, very disappointedly not anywhere near the potential :(

Older version announced driver leading race, lead changes etc. Sad to see an update eliminate one of the best features of an app especially when the overall improved design was good. It should not take this long to fix a small bug or add what customers are requesting. GET ER DONE

Sound doesn't work in new version
App wasn't that great to begin with, now the sound won't work (it also updated my controller without telling me what was in the update, I'm worried).
SmartRace is compatible with Carrera's Bluetooth adapter and works much better, albeit it isn't free...

Do NOT update:
This app is basically broken. The previous version worked ok with race sounds and commentary. The sound no longer works in this version! Other functions are buggy.

Don’t download!!!
This app bricked my Control unit after trying to update via Bluetooth after trying to use two different iOS devices. Now I’m out 100 bucks and I can’t race. CARRERA FIX THIS!! This is really disappointing.

Most disappointing app I have ever used. Just updated my controller and now my unit is useless. Sent message to Carrera and no reply. This app obviously was not tested or they would not have published. DO NOT LOAD.

Far from optimal
This App does not live up to the Carrera name. I am a collector with over 100 of the digital 132 Carrera cars in my collection. The cars and track are top quality. Works of art. The racing experience would be much improved if Carrera would continually work to upgrade the App. Carrera is merging real works into the digital market and users expect fewer bugs and intuitive software that is user friendly. Why no response since January 2016? Carrera has a fantastic product they need to work on the App to match the cars' performance. When that happens Carreras customers will be having better neighborhood races and introducing the product to a new generation. Listen to your loyal customers Carrera and improve the software. With a little imagination you could add some good graphic, suggested racing formats, built in digital mechanical issues randomly hitting cars, etc to improve the racing experience.
