Create bizarre chess boards and play! No kings? All queens? Stacked odds? Anything goes in Chess Maker!
Features a board builder that lets players create their own chess board:
- Any shape within an 8x8 grid goes!
- Place as many or as few pieces as you like! The AI is not programmed to complain about an unfair match.
- Listen to music from your library while playing!
The same rules of standard chess apply, with a few exceptions:
- If a player has no king, they can only be defeated by capturing all of their pieces!
- Castling can be done in any direction, provided the king and rook have two empty spaces between them and neither has moved since the start of the game.
- Pawns come in four different varieties, one for each cardinal direction. They can move two spaces on their first move and can be promoted when they reach the edge of the board.

Fabulous!
So much fun. Great for all ages. I love it, my teens love it and my ten year old loves it! It’s great to have an app to challenge them intellectually and also let them be creative because they can change the board in so many ways.

I don’t understand.
I just don’t understand because it says “Stalemate!” Any 50 turns. If pawns become kings, then it says that no pawn movements have occurred within 50 moves, so click OK to exit.
I have hated this game for 3 years now, so I will celebrate when the notifications I said as PocketfulofPosey get removed to an update. It’s like, WHY?! Why do you have to delete my save game 50 turns in?! WHY?!?! PLEASE fix this glitch notification! OR ELSE I will forget all about your profile. JUST PLEASE do not delete my saves again! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Amazing! But it could be better...
This is a great game, but you should have more editable.
Here is a list of new things I want for this game:
- A list of fairy chess pieces and a piece creator.
- A board editor.
- You can do it with real people in “Play” mode.
- Adding/removing boards (like 3D chess).
- Pieces from every type of chess imaginable.

Chess board
You have confined this game to an 8x8 max grid leaving no room for expansion. If I wanted a 9x10 like Chinese chess or maybe a 12x12 board it can’t be done.....

Poor interface
Modal dialog pops up to inform you each check, checkmate, and stalemate. No undo. Otherwise an alright experience. But the emphasis on music playing is bizarre for a chess app. Probably should delete this app.

This game cheats on me! I’ve played chess before and IT DID NOT GO LIKE THAT AT ALL! I’ve only played chess twice in my life! So please don’t let this happen again! I—I Just wanna say the f word. But I know I’m still a kid- so I won’t say it. Only adults can say it. So many people have ripped off your game- and IT STILL CONTAINS CHEATERS. That was feedback from 2019.
Here’s the 2020 feedback.
It’s now spamming notifications that lie; and it didn’t do that earlier! I tried everything to make the notifications go away, but they wouldn’t; and would just count as errors! For example, “White King has been captured!” While it’s not; it’s actually cornered. Another example, “Black has no pieces left!” While it has one piece and that piece is cornered. And those two errors keep on spamming!! Please fix this! And I really wanted this to be fixed because I can’t fully enjoy my game because of those liars! My sister can’t either! When those errors occur, I say “The game has glitched. please play again later!” And we wait another hour, and the same thing happens! I tried waiting a day or two, but the same thing happened: still! I also tried waiting another week, but it just said error again! I tried a month, but they still popped up! I even tried waiting a year; nothing changed! I even tried deleting and reinstalling the app; but that didn’t work either! Nothing worked! 😤 I’d really like these notifications to go away; I even tried it in settings; but that didn’t work either! This brings me to where I am now. And this is true! This really happened! I even tried testing the app again! But it didn’t work either! I’d really like these forced notifications to not be a thing anymore. My dad tried fixing it; but that didn’t work. I even tried fixing it myself! That didn’t work either! I even tried playing a different game! But my phone decided to delete all my progress! I tried searching the web on the best result of how to fix it; but my phone said no. 😰
