Hijack - In addition to Classic Choker, the original game experience, you can now play Hijack. Hijack is a fast-paced mode where players immediately go all in and can use chips or privilege tickets to buy perks including "The Peek" - This allows you to see your opponents cards, "The Drop" - This allows you to discard up to two cards for new ones and "The Swap" - This allows you to swap hands with your opponent. There's even a cool new freeze timer option!
AI Robot Battle - Fight against a lineup of robot foes who are on a mission to defeat you. With each robot you defeat, you'll reveal a piece of them. Defeat them enough times to reveal the robot and unlock their avatar. Collect all 7 robot avatars to unlock an exclusive robot chess piece set to play with.
Custom Themes - You can make Choker feel more personal by applying custom board themes, piece sets and card backs to your games.

Good game that could be great
Fantastic idea, almost perfectly implemented. Very fun and well designed. Both chess and poker skills matter, which I didn’t expect. I have two qualms. First, there is a lot of downtime between hands. The game makes a big deal of telling you what happened in the previous hand, then takes a couple seconds to bet and a couple seconds to deal. This creates an unnecessary lag between hands, and slows the game down. Second, I think that opening antes rise too quickly and without enough warning. I have won/lost many games where one player is dealt bad cards four-five times in a row, folds each time, and then just loses the game. Given the amount of variance in poker, I think that number should be a bit higher. Besides these small issues, it’s a great game that any fan of chess or poker should try.

Great game, but it feels weird playing it
I really like the idea of this game, I also enjoy playing it. However, base on my experience on being mediocre at playing chess and having usually bad luck at poker, I really think the players here are either really bad at chess and poker, or they are just bots. This is because of their odd behaviour such as never raising bets even when having queen and players playing such similar moves in placement phase. Only handful of players actually great at chess and they are usually just play at 2000 chips range

Why couldn’t the app be better?
This is a bad app. I have barely ever gotten through a full match without a glitch, usually forcing me to quit the app and restart. The other people’s complaints about the rake size and leaderboards are also totally valid and super annoying.
HOWEVER,
The concept is just about the most fun game idea I’ve played. It frustrates the hell out of me that this hasn’t caught on more, because if I could play this game with an app that people would actually want to use, I would be incredibly happy. Getting reviews from Hikaru and Eric Rosen is great, but I think with a functional app this could really take off, and I hope it does sometime in the future.

Need to hire new app developers
I absolutely love chess. I love poker even more. You’d think this game would be the perfect mix of the two...and it is! I’ll give 4 stars for the idea and gameplay. But honestly, I was tempted to give 2 stars because the app is absolutely atrocious. Everything is slow as molasses, and the app looks/acts like it was made for the iPhone 3G. It literally could not get any worse. The developers should feel embarrassed because the app has no cohesion and is poorly designed. If they did a COMPLETE rehaul of the app, this game could be HUGE. Just my two cents. It’s just plain unacceptable. But, alas, I use it bc the concept is fantastic. The implementation though? Unabashedly terrible.

Fix The Glitches!
The concept is incredible, and it’s a wonderful game, but the app is unplayable. It’s so laggy I can’t do it on my phone, and have to do it on my iPad. You also can’t queue a game without it booting you out of the game or force stopping. Basically every action you try to take results in getting kicked. Also, please please please add more chess sets, the default one is atrocious. Make the game less heavy, and fix getting kicked when doing anything and it’s an immediate 5 star review from me.
I also bought the pack with the extra set because I hate the default one so much, and it took my money and then crashed without giving me the pack, so I’m double upset about that

Could be great.
Freezes way to much. The leaderboards won’t load. Submit in the tournament registration won’t work. Pre moves are a great idea. I can’t put it on my computer. I can’t link multiple devices it only shows the device your using in the list, so each time I change from iPad to iPhone I have to log in again. The game concept itself is great though. My two favorite games in one. One other suggest is to separate the piece placement time from game play time. I love the game though.

A) Any chess based app needs a good leaderboard. A list of people with 999M chips as a “leaderboard” is useless. Must integrate some kind of rating system.
B) How is Hikaru not visible anywhere on the app? (see A). He’s your most high-profile player, many people are only here because of him (same with Anna Rudolph).
C) Fair play: a tough one, but when one of the top “gurus” listed has 900+ wins and 10 losses, you aren’t even trying.
D) Terrible bugs. Game just freezes constantly. I bought into game with 50k chips, just a blank chess board appears and the game doesn’t start. After a few minutes kill app, restart, and I’m down 50k chips. Also some weird bug where king makes illegal move and game shuts down.
I also am suspicious that many players are actually bots. You always get a game within 15 seconds and they play like bots. Always make the perfect move to avoid mate but can’t mate their opponent with two rooks vs king.

Buggy
Many bugs when playing games that often force you to quit or lose your chips. The most common bug for me is in the middle of a game, with no reasoning or warning. My pieces stop making moves. Even when it’s my turn and my clock is ticking my pieces appear to have the premove affect on them when I attempt to move them. When this happens I’m forced to resign or run the clock out and lose. With a game like this these sorts of bugs are not acceptable. The game idea and the game itself is really fun when it works.

Great idea, fatal bugs
Whenever I’m winning a match and the player disconnects, I lose the amount that’s in the pot. People can troll whenever they’re upset about losing a position this way. You cannot play this game knowing that this issue exists. That is the main bug that needs to be addressed.
Other than that, there are just a few bugs, like some perpetual loading screens I’ve stumbled upon. Incorrect text such as “your opponent has won” or something along those lines, even when I win.

Update caused bug! Lost $$$
The recent update has caused the app to freeze. I have lost so many of my games. As son as the game ends and when I won the game freezes before getting back to home page. So I have to force quit the app and restart it. It's happening on every game. I will have to stop using if it pertains as I keep losing chips.
Are you guys doing something about this recent update which caused a bug. I have won so many games and they all freeze at the end after it says I choke mated them. I’m so frustrated right now after losing over 100M and wasting time.
