I was shocked and elated to see this on the store this morning. If you've played other CC games, you know to expect refined gameplay and deep, uncomplicated fun. The game has single game and tourney modes, eight teams, and four arenas. Physics are immaculate when it comes to both skating and the puck. Graphics are fantastic, with glossy ice and colorful arenas. Sound is ambient and faithful to the hockey experience. I think the controls are much better than those of soccer, but still take some acclimation. Blasting the puck is super-satisfying, and one-timers work great. Goalies put up a good fight, as well.
There is no multiplayer as of yet, but that typically happens within a month of launch. There is no support for achievements. I wish I could use two fingers for better control while shooting. There are still times when you'll pass when you intended to shoot, but it's a small issue. CC Hockey still lacks the customization customers have been requesting since CC Tennis. Before this becomes $3, I think we're owed a bit of innovation.
