TL;DR: CURRENTLY IMPOSSIBLE TO COMPLETE THIS GAME IN ITS CURRENT STATE. VERY SURPRISED IT WAS RELEASED WITH SO MANY GLITCHES, GIVEN THE MANY OTHER GAMES BY THIS DEV. WAIT FOR UPDATED VERSION.
****UPDATE FROM MY FEB 11th REVIEW:
It’s now the 23rd, and I guess developer doesn’t care that ppl are experiencing issues that make it impossible to finish. I keep checking back for an update to fixes (clearly issues are w/game, not lack of player figuring it out, as I’m not alone in exact spots by others who know how these games work. Plus, I’ve also finished every other game by this developer up to this one, n while hit or miss n def not fav dev, I was trying to lend positive support to the developer with my original ‘review.’ At the very least, the devs could’ve responded to someone’s post(could care less if mine) n prefer if not, BUT AT LEAST SOMEONE WHO TOOK TIME TO ‘REVIEW’ AN APP U APPARENTLY HAVE NO INTENTION OF FIXING!!! I GAVE BENEFIT OF DOUBT N ASSUMED IN INITIAL REVIEW, THO SURPRISED PUT OUT WHEN HAD TO KNOW IT WAS FULL OF IMPASSIBLE GLITCHES, I WAS CERTAIN YOUD FIX IT SOON. U went from near bottom of favs (n iOS is FINALLY getting new escape contenders who were prev only on Android or are totally new altogether! Yay!). What’s worse, my phone has been BUGGING OUT n it was fine till around time I installed n deleted. I think next game (if u bother w/making more, I’ll WAIT for reviews. If no reviews or low ones, then you guys will be added to the list of those I take a pass on.
Same glitches ...that have been mentioned in the reviews so far. It's unplayable. I can't progress, and I too get stuck w/pink cup and having to continually exit out and reopen game. Once I reached the basement level, I can't go back up the ladder to the top floor where I need to go. Instead, when I tap the ladder, I get a full screen closeup of an open drawer, that is from a puzzle I've already unlocked.
I too, resorted to the hint, and also was given the cactus hint AFTER I'd already solved that puzzle. Before that and while going thru MULTIPLE attempts of close out/reopen, I tried a hint, and was given the bunny in the trees puzzle, which I'd also already solved before getting the ‘hint’.
I have no way to reach the melted paint can, and my inventory is now empty. I can't figure out the point of (so far) three different places that solving puzzles has unlocked 3 various order of dots/musical notes, the paw print puzzle, or where the clues to the 6 colored buttons on a drawer are for.
As another reviewer mentioned about the wreath on the door that sketches out (which given the swirling and intentional vanishing of the tree, santa on the wall (which becomes clear again after solving the reindeer puzzlw), I'm not sure if it's meant to be a puzzle or if it's a glitch.
Being unable to reach so many areas, and accidentally tapping that stupid pink mug screen n having to close/reopen, has rendered this impossible try to finish. I'm not sure how the one reviewer was able to, or if it was maybe even a fake review (not saying it is, but seems if 99% can't finish, well...
I play these short escapes almost daily, and look for new games from certain developers at least every few days in the App Store, this dev being among those I've played all of. They're not my favorite, and the unique perspective of how 'rooms' are viewed and puzzles being logical or attempting to get in devs head to figure out the puzzles, makes this devs games hit or miss. Until the MANY glitches are fixed and updated, don't bother wasting time.
Tho I am pretty sure these glitches will be sorted out, with so many under this devs belt, I'm REALLY SURPRISED this was released in its current state! I will still play games released by this developer, including this getting a proper chance once fixed. New games take quite some time to be released, and I was surprised it took so long for a new game to be released. That said, I'd rather wait longer, than spent time being frustrated by a broken game.
This was long and and more specific, as a msg to the developer. I wanted to note all of the places and puzzles I encountered that need addressed in some way, and that while really surprised this slipped thru in its current state, I'll continue to support this developer.
