Description

This is a simple game with simple rules. Just trap the the blue dot within the matrix of circles. This is one smart dot though...

Just tap on the gray dots and they will turn to orange. The blue dot is blocked by these orange dots.

Surround the blue dot with the orange dots before it escapes!

But is it even possible?

93allie93,
ALMOST awesome- easy updates
This game is pretty close to being really fun. It on its own is pretty good, but it gets boring and here are my thoughts-
-There should be two modes: free play and challenge. Free play should be exactly how it is now. Challenge would make the game a little more competitive.
FOR CHALLENGE MODE:
-There are only a certain number of default yellow dot positions. These should be considered "boards". Once you win, you should be able to see how many steps other people beat it in. And at that point, you should be able to replay that board and see if you can get it in that many steps as well
-There should be different levels with different numbers of default yellow dots.

This game is fun, but there are not enough statistics to make it worth while to play. And the "best score" now is pretty irrelevant because it's all based upon the random board you are given. To really make this a competitive, exciting game, give users the option to challenge their best scores on certain boards and to beat others. As of now, continuing to play it just seems boring considering my score can't improve much.

So, for all the overly competitive people like me, let's make this game a little more interesting!!! The hard part is already done, quick improvements could make this game awesome!
Frogger enthusiasts,
good idea, poor game design (solution in text)
Well, the concept is great. I really like it, even the really intelligent AI (its not really intelligent, just taking the shortest path out). But the execution of the concept is rather poor. THERE IS ONLY ONE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY. Some people (including myself) have difficulty with the game, like wanting to throw their phone off a cliff (not recommended). Yes, there are strategies to win. I read them all, watched all the tutorials And I only win around 1 in 10 (and I do highly technical work for a living). Some of the problem lies in the random arrangement of yellow dots.; some are simply not winnable.

This problem can be EASILY FIXED BY THE GAME DESIGNERS. The simplest solution would be for male different levels, and level starts with a different amounts of yellow dots. Easier levels have more yellow dots (more opportunities to trap the blue dot) and even harder levels have fewer yellow dots (yes, really - some people really like to suffer). The added dots can probably be random, but for the easiest of levels they could be randomized around the edges of the board instead of just anywhere.

If you guys fix this, my 2 stars will go up to 4 or 5 (depending on how well the problem is fixed). And I might even pay for an add-free version. Otherwise, this game will be wiped off my phone within a few weeks max...
Millie's Loam World,
Reply to David Gibson's review
This game is amazing, dude. The excellent AI for the blue ball may make the game difficult, but once you get a good, clean strategy, it becomes relatively easy. I beat the dot on about 1/2 of my rounds. At first, I liked your review because you were just warning the players that the game is difficult, which is true. However, when I read on, you tended to get really mad at the developers. It's not their fault the game is hard. The difficulty just means they are very good programmers who want to give a challenge to the players. Don't worry, I'm not calling you stupid. I'm calling you over reactive. Please do not write comments or reviews when you are in rage mode. Hopefully, all of you people who have wrongly insulted this game can learn something from this. I've been you on games before, writing rage mode comments left and right, but after realizing that I had only been doing wrong, made it my goal to make the world a better place on this area. That's all I have to say.

Note to Ketchapp: Don't let comments like David Gibson's stop you from making cool games! ( ;

Easy to rage at, Fun to master
Alright, there is no denying it, this is a really hard game... If you don't know what you're doing. The AI is tough, seemingly cunning, but slightly predictable. It is true that some levels are simply laid out badly and cant be beaten, but the "load time" is minuscule, so you can simply reload it. On the levels where it *is* beatable, the game is a lot of fun!

My only complaints are that there is no"restart" button readily accessible in the game, and that the AI becomes somewhat predictable. The first of these two is pretty easily fixable by the devs. The second one, however, would be a bit more work, and seems like it would come later in development.

Overall, it's a great game, and those of you raging at the game and asking for it to be removed from the app store should really just delete it from your own devices...
ClasslessToast,
Bull on the nth Degree? Mostly
Although the objective is interesting and rather brandish when it comes to ideas of a game, this game is worth a small amount of your time. However it is based only on luck instead of strategy. It is possible though, so keep that in mind. With no tutorial, you have to be lucky if you can beat just one randomly generated level. The blue dot unfairly moves towards the emptiest side, where it always spawns 3 moves away from by the way, and is unstoppable if you can't trap it in one of the generated orange dots. I wish that the dot can only go diagonally instead of being able to move horizontally because it can allow you to plan you next move, not waste time guiding the blue dot to the open edge to the sides. But that's just my thoughts on this game. Keep my warnings in the back of your mind though; it really is next to impossible.
Aunt Jemimima,
Would have been better if...
This game is quite difficult at first; trying to understand the mechanics and strategies. After a while, though, you're able to judge the movements of the AI, acquire tricks to use the environment to your advantage, and the game becomes a little more fun. The one big flaw with this game is that the pre-placed dots on the map are completely random. Once you understand the game more, you realize that these dots are almost essential to a win condition. This is where the flaw is: some games are not winnable. This puts a huge damper on the game, and can be quite frustrating if you get many of these in a row. Imagine trying to solve a Sudoku with no solvable solution.
This game would have received 5 stars from me if there were set levels of difficulty, in progression, and maybe some challenges.
Nevertrustabarber,
RNG-based garbage
As most others have mentioned, the way this game works makes it unbeatable most of the time. The blue dot will always take the shortest route to the edge of the screen. Placing dots around the blue dot increases the distance between it and the edge of the circle, so it moves away from you in search of a shorter route. The problem with this arises when there are multiple routes that are the same length before you place your dot. This occurs the vast majority of the time, and when it does, the blue dot will always escape no matter what you do. I don't think this is erroneous on the game designers' part. It would be very convenient for a company to make money off of you if they convinced you that "you were so close that time, slugger, give it another go! I know you'll make it next time!" when in actuality there are a set number of times you can win, and every 5 games a clickbait ad shows up (and to be honest, knowing Ketchapp, this doesn't sound too implausible)

Challenging but fun
When I first looked at this game I looked at the reviews, the reviews said: that this game was so hard, that's when I decided to get it because, I like a challenge.

I got really frustrated at first because, I could never trap the the dot inside. I was thinking of deleting this game, but then I decided to try the game one last time and I trapped the dot. That's when I decided to keep the game. You might get frustrated at first, but at some point in time you will trap the dot.

I have some suggestions about the game. I think you should make levels and on the easier levels you should have more dots and on the harder levels you should have less dots.
GreenJeaner,
Terrible
This game is terrible. If you think this will be a fun and engaging game to do when bored or trying to kill time, you should leave now and choose another game. There are no levels, just different circles in different places. It's not one of those games that gives you a chance to win, but you blow it. Some levels are actually impossible. And I'm not exaggerating. There is no mathematical way to beat some of the levels. Granted, I'm not the smartest or the best strategist, so I could be winning more levels, but if you're just a normal human being like me, the fact that you're doomed to lose as soon as the game restarts will frustrate you extremely. On the occasion that the circles are in the right place, you MAY get it, but only if you play the exact moves. That's happened to me a couple times, but not enough for me to keep playing. Guys, skip over this game. Disappointing and frustrating. If zero stars was possible, this would be it.
A r d e n,
Hard and stupid
I think it's hard, but you can't think it should be taken off the App Store, that's not their fault, yeah sure flappy bird had to get taken off,but I get that, they shouldn't make games that cause that, you just were so stupid, that you smashed your phone, that's not the games fault,it's your stupidness, flappy bird was actually causing devours, this game may be hard, but sorry...your just stupid to break your phone! And "Jessa6828,watch your language,I may have herd those word before, but still they are one of the worst bad words...well the F not A as much, but I'm only a kid,and your one of those people on commercials that they talk about being nice online so no bad words come out.

P.S.
If you were stupid enough to break you phone,I wouldn't want to be your friend, you may come up as a jerk to me,and I'm really sorry...but it's kind of true...you need to learn to manage your anger!
