Operational, But Still Needs Work

I was hesitant to buy a Mia Smart because of all of the negative reviews I read about this app. Unlike other reviewers, I had no issues registering or pairing my Mia. The app itself has never crashed or given me issues. However it currently has some limited functionality. A lot of the smart modes seem really similar. I like the streak feature and the uses feature. I just wish there was some sort of calendar view so you could see which days you used it and how many times on each day. I hope that’s a feature that rolls out soon. I got a really great deal on my Mia Smart (about 40% off) so it was a no brainer for me, but I would not recommend buying a Mia Smart given the current features in the app.

Awful

I had the same issues with the app crashing after the update. I emailed customer support and never received a response. After deleting the app and downloading it again, the app showed someone else’s profile-someone else’s pictures, someone else’s attachments, etc. Since I never received a response from customer support when I emailed in, I called. They had a very stock response of, “delete the app and download it again.” I explained that I did that already. They told me to set up a new profile. I explained that I could not do this, since you need an email address to set up a profile. My email address is already in use. The customer service rep said, “Don’t you have another email address that you can use?” I do but NOT the point. Extremely unhelpful! So, sorry to whomever out there that has had their pic, attachments, and routines deleted but Clarisonic could not help sort out the issues with their ridiculous app. Would not recommend the product to anyone because of the app.

Needs ALOT of work to be useful

The main problem is that it does not display how much battery life is left. It just stays at 100% all the time until it dies. I just figured out a hack: go to change settings and immediately come back, it will then show the correct battery level. The routines need to be more varied and the tutorials need to be more precise. There should also be a manual attached for FAQs and operational steps. The app loading of receipts allows you to take a picture of your receipts to get points except that I have always gotten a “cannot read” email after I’ve uploaded. I bought the items from Clarisonic, so why can’t I just type in the order number?

There could be so much more that could be done with this app. Right now it’s not even good for battery life. Too bad.

Buggy and confusing

I had no issues pairing my Clarisonic with the app. The user interface is confusing; more specifically, the way in which you select cleansing routines and “sync” them with the device is clunky, and deleting routines requires too many steps (pressing and holding or swiping to delete like in email would be nice). The ability to customize the duration of cleaning routines is great but again, harder to get to those settings than it should be. The number of times my brush head has been used does not update for some reason which is half the reason why I use the app. Overall it’s a good start but the developers really need to reimagine the user interface and reduce the number of screen taps required to get to different settings. Too many menus/pages.

Not very easy to use

While I love the MIA Smart and all of its attachments, the app is the worst part. I had to search and search for how to pair my device with my phone when I first got it. Also, the alarms I have set as reminders to cleanse do not work. I’ve checked to make sure I allow notifications on my phone from the app and I still get nothing. The videos, while the instructions seem straightforward, are a little too simplistic because I have other questions and don’t know where to get the answers. You just have to play around with the app and the device for a while to figure things out yourself—which is fine I guess. But I’d expect things to be as simple as the app makes it seem.

App has problems

I just received my Mia Smart that I purchased online. I downloaded the app knowing it was on its way. It opened and let me look around at all of the features and videos. Later when I tried to open it to connect the MIA and the app, it would open when I selected the app and then close very quickly. I finally got it to stay open enough to connect the two. After letting it charge for several hours I went to check how much the MIA was charged. I couldn’t due to the fact a soon s I would open it, it would close. I was hoping to give it 5 stars, but with the app glitching it really doesn’t deserve 1 star. I know it’s that app with the problem because all my other apps work without any problems. Please fix this so I can use it especially for the price.

Not worth it

This app has to be the worst app I’ve ever downloaded having high hopes. Started with showing a message I was registered which took a while to fix. Then my lot number was not recognized. Now it’s been weeks and I have not been able to pair my device via Bluetooth. Frustrating as I upgraded for the blue tooth features of tracking my skin care. Why create an app designed for a device when it’s not properly functioning. Im very disappointed and feel I cheated for this device as I could’ve easily purchased a one for the fraction of the cost without the headache. Now I may just get a response saying contact our customer service and we apologize for this.. customer service will not be able to support this as I’ve tried reaching out and received nothing.

Not helpful at all

I wouldn’t recommend this app because it’s main objective is to get the consumer to buy more brushes/accessories. My complaint is with the company behind Clarisonic that didn’t provide information on how to use the Clarisonic itself. It’s irresponsible of Clarisonic to put this in the public’s hands by not providing information on how to charge, how to attach the brush which I almost destroyed because I thought the sliver tab on the back of the brush was suppose to be removed, or what the blinking light means. There was a 52 page pointless booklet that was all about “do nots, cautions and warnings”. I bought the Mia Prima and I do like the way it cleans my face so far but for $99 the company needs to provide the public IN THE BOX and ON THE APP on the proper way to use their product. It shouldn’t be a guessing game.

The app update wrecked my device

I have had the Mia smart for two months. I never had a problem with it until this most recent app update in early February. Ever since the app update, my Clarisonic will not switch into smart mode. I tried restarting my phone, deleting and re-downloading the app, re-pairing my Mia to the app... Nothing, the app says it’s connected, but my device never lights up blue LED anymore and refuses to go into smart mode. I paid for this device specifically for the smart mode, so it is a SHAME that the app is so limiting, the service is so poor, and the process of trying to figure this out without an adequate manual is migraine-inducing! Please, Clarisonic, fix your app! Or please let me know if my device has warranty and/or a return policy that covers broken products... thanks.

Extremely unintuitive

My “home page” should show my selected routines, instead it’s every available routine and it’s confusing. Whenever I “sync” to a routine and follow along with the tutorial, my device doesn’t follow the pattern in the tutorial, so I don’t think I’m even doing the proper routine. It’s very confusing. This app just makes owning the device frustrating. I don’t have a lot of time to get ready at night and adding the Clarisonic routines is already more time consuming, but adding in all the extra time for Bluetooth connection, figuring out the app, etc. it’s almost unbearable. I wish the Clarisonic just had buttons for the modes on the actual device. I hate having to use my phone while I’m just trying to wash my face or do a firming routine.
