Description

Discover, organize, and deepen all your personal and professional relationships with Clay, a beautiful and intuitive contacts app, lightweight CRM, and more.

People make us laugh, challenge us to improve, support us when things are tough, and celebrate with us once they get better. But staying in touch with the people that matter thoughtfully is difficult.

Before Clay, being thoughtful required relying on your memory as well as a mix of spreadsheets, notecards, address books, and other tools. In addition to being difficult to manage, this approach let important relationships, moments, and context fall through the cracks. That’s why we created Clay—a stunning, intuitive, and private home for your relationships, built automatically from your email, calendar, address book, LinkedIn, Twitter, and iMessage.

Clay helps you show up informed by creating and automatically updating beautiful cards for each of your contacts with context such as profile photos, bios, education and work history, location, and social profiles. In addition, you can use powerful features such as natural-language search, dictation and note taking, reminders, birthday notifications, news articles about people you know, reconnection cadences, and more to deepen your relationships over time.

REMEMBER THE IMPORTANT THINGS

Clay is the fastest and most powerful way to take notes before, during, and after a conversation with someone. Remember kids names, vacation itineraries, and that last article you read that you’ve been dying to share, all by writing a note on someone's card.

REACH OUT AT THE RIGHT MOMENT

Set a reminder for particular days—like a birthday or anniversary—or pick a reconnection cadence so you don’t lose touch.

ORGANIZE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

Dinner party faves? Book club? High school friends? Easily add people to groups so you can organize people however makes sense to you. Then, use those groups to make organizing events easier and faster.

SEARCH LIKE YOU THINK

You remember people in different ways—where you last met to catch up, when you last saw them, what you talked about. Just type what comes to mind and Clay will find the right person or group of people based on your notes and their profile, all in milliseconds. It's the easiest, most powerful person search available anywhere.

STAY ON TOP OF THINGS

Never miss a beat with Home—a powerful, high-level view of all the updates from your entire network. Be the first to congratulate someone when they change jobs or when they're mentioned in thousands of top print and digital publications.

Reconnect is the easiest, most advanced way to stay in touch with the people you know over time. Today, we're excited to announce our biggest update to Reconnect since we launched it: Reconnect for Groups.

Depending on the cadence you set and the number of people in the Group, Clay will give you a handful of recommendations of people to reach out to each day in the Home and Review tabs. You won't be reminded about the person if you've talked to them in that time period, and cadences automatically update as you add and remove people from groups.

JimmieSanDoh,
Amazing!
Wow, this is a gorgeous app! Was able to sync all my social media profiles and contacts from multiple places. It has already saved me time and frustration from checking in and staying in touch with my network without having to bounce around a zillion apps
bythebay10,
Pretty but useless and questionable privacy
Is it a nice looking app? Yes. Does it do anything useful? As far as I can tell in 15 minutes of exploring, no. It seems the same as Dex or CRM apps but maybe some nifty iMessage integration if you use the Mac app. To make matters worse, you can’t really tell what this app’s features are clearly from the App Store listing or onboarding. It’s not until after they force you to upload contacts, connect accounts etc that it becomes clear and in my case the answer is it’s not useful. Then to add insult to injury, it DOESNT HAVE A WAY TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT in any automated form as required by CCPA & GDPR. Instead you must manually email them which you can’t do easily you signed up using Apple ID and a scrambled email. TLDR: think twice before making an account here.
SweetPotatoSpice,
Almost useful
Currently it crashes when I try to archive or merge profiles. When I could archive a contact, the list goes back to the beginning--not helpful with 1,000+ contacts. Can'ts include: inability to delete contacts; jump to a particular letter of the alphabet; delete an email that was imported; import all LinkedIn data for all applicable contacts; doesn't go to the exact email that you click on to read it; inability to filter out, delete or mark content/results in the Home tab as irrelevant or inaccurate. It also doesn't handle titles/prefixes, middle initials and suffixes well.
PANBytes,
Has potential
Clay is an interesting app, and has potential. The biggest issue, as I see it, is the home screen. It’s a cluttered, useless mess. Unfortunate as this the the primary interface you typically work in. Clay desperately needs prioritized actionable insights here. They also need the ability to swipe and delete/hide system messages. I’ll hang out for awhile, but if these issues aren’t rectified by the time they want to start charging me, I won’t subscribe. Particularly at $20/mo.
tayvel,
Easy to operate
This app works wonders. You just type what you need reminder of and when in the same note and it’ll record it. No need to click several tabs to set one reminder
jxphan,
Great idea but doesn’t work for me
I’ve been looking for a service like this for a long time. I like that you can import contacts from so many different sources (Twitter, Facebook, Contacts, etc.) but unfortunately none of the contacts end up showing up in the app for me, even though the app says the imports are successful. I don’t want to manually upload my contacts, so the app is currently unusable for me.
Storm0105,
App isn’t working
The app said it uploaded my contacts but nothing is there. It gave me some words I can use to search through my contacts so I clicked on one thinking it would bring up my contacts that way and it just buffered and spun. Showing my contacts were imported and what I can use to search through my contacts and gives breakdown of how many connections I’ve had over the years but no contacts ever show up.
Eck Zed,
phenomenal product and team!
the quality of support I received from the Clay team is unmatched!! truly awesome app that’s stunning and easy to use and has helped me stay in touch with college friends
Runner1234122we,
Good concept but buggy
Right off the bat I found many of my Contacts were not “found” even though I had successfully imported them. Customer service worked with engineering to try to solve, and I provided a lot of info to help. They couldn’t solve the issue, a fact I discovered only when my customer service contact stopped returning my emails. Verdict: not at all ready for prime time.
Benstrom,
Has potential but very buggy!
1. Click + to add a person. Person’s name is Jane Smith. Then click + to add John Smith… and you can’t because Jane Smith is already on your list. It is blocking the check or add button.

2. Click four square on bottom right. Click people. List of people appears and disappears. No other way to view list of your people.

3. Why am I seeing myself in the review list?

4. Can’t delete activities if I don’t want to see some entries like tutorials?

However I am liking the idea. And I like the notification to remind me to touch base with people.
