A good idler that could use a bit of improvement here and there, but overall, pretty decent!
Let's be honest: This game is fairly good, for the most part. Gems aren't difficult to obtain, and it isn't that hard to progress (but patience is very, VERY key). On the other hand, there are some issues and suggestions I'd like to point out:
• It seems that every Fred's level cap is 5000. However, Mythical Fred (when tapping on his icon after having "capped him out") shows that the next promotion is level 5,500, even though he has been "maxed out." Wouldn't it be interesting if each Fred had different level caps, instead of the universal 5,000?
• The haphazardly organized pacts after going somewhere into the trigintillions. If you're trying to organize each pact by price, clumping 3 pacts for each character together in order (with seemingly random prices) isn't really effective. Perhaps we could use a little reorganization, or maybe just a Quick Buy button for pacts?
• The sluggish progression through the stages when you have a REALLY high SPS (for me, somewhere in the septendecillions and octodecillions). It's not that it's slow... It's just that when you reset (going from Stage 1 to Stage 960, for example), the game seems to have set speed rates for each part of the stage. What if this was sped up so I didn't have to wait an hour or more to get to a stage that I get stuck on (which, I think, hovers somewhere around 1,200)?
• In the counting system, untrigintillions are mistakenly labeled as "unvigintillions" and "trestrigintillion" is misspelled as "tretrigintillion."
• Stage appearances change for the last time at Stage 350, and after that - all the way to infinity - they never change again, making everything start to seem dull. I recognize that this can save space, but some of us have gotten really far, and we could use a little change of scenery.
• Counting the two DLC characters, there are only 17 characters available in-game, yet the promotional screenshots say there are "dozens" to collect! How about adding some more characters (Running Fred and Skiing Fred characters as inspiration?) to the game?
• What if we got permanent bonuses to our bonus per demon for each stage milestone we reach (such as 50, 100, 250, 500, 666, 750, 1000, etc.)?
• You allow our Freds to go crazy fast (such as 10 times normal speed), but yet, even with all the Tap Power pacts we get, who could POSSIBLY tap fast enough to max out to that speed? Couldn't the app at least allow us to render a tap while we still are pressing a finger on the screen?
• What if we introduced new types of stages, such as flying or falling stages? Freds could have skill sets for every different type of stage!
Now that those issues are off my mind, on to the commendations:
• An option to switch between 30 and 60 FPS! This makes the game lag WAY less with more Freds (though immediately after resetting, the mass purchase of Fred levels can get really laggy)!
• A simple demon system! No "demon upgrades" that can make you accidentally spend all your demons and lose the bonus you've been working on for months! It's just a simple bonus!
• The name generation system for the stages attempts to keep things interesting ("Somebody help me! I'm stuck on Stage 213, the Ancient Flats of Hate!"), but every now and then, I wonder where the LAST stage is (Is it 96,022, displayed in the promotional screenshots?)...
• The environmental and obstacle changes are interesting, but I wonder if you guys can churn out some more of these for the later stages!
• A generous daily rewards system that keeps you coming back!
• Catchy music, though it's really loud with the music high in-game!
• A missions system to award you with gems and characters!
• This all makes Clicker Fred easy to start playing, and hard to stop - even if that streak continues for months on end!
With all of these things in mind, I thereby rate this app 4 stars. It's good, but I'll admit it starts to get a little stale after a while.
