EMBRACE HEALTHY AGING
We’re all growing older. And the number of adults who experience cognitive decline is increasing fast. Researchers from University College London found that cognitive decline cases in older people have more than doubled in 10 Years. Also, according to the CDC, 1 in 9 adults aged 45+ self-report cognitive decline.
But there’s good news – with a regular exercise routine you can help keep your mind in shape. And by using proven brain health techniques, your mind can grow stronger in what you choose to focus on.
THE SCIENCE: BRAIN GAMES VS. COACH
Using brain games as a method to improve your cognition is extremely popular. However, there’s significant scientific research that these games don’t actually help your brain health in the way that we might think that they do.
In 2014, 69 leading neuroscientists at Stanford University and other institutions issued a statement that the scientific evidence does not back up the claims that these brain games improve cognition. Researchers found that while you might get better at the game, that doesn’t mean you’ll be able to use those skills to improve your daily life.
However, there was already a proven and effective method for cognitive training used in clinical settings. Specialists would “coach” their patients through well-researched and scientifically-tested tasks. For example, after experiencing a medical trauma, a patient might receive neuro-pyschological rehab to improve their daily cognitive function. This is already known to work, but it’s not widely accessible when limited to a clinical setting. Cognishape is what bridges the gap.
THE COGNISHAPE STORY
