Description
College Capital provides a one stop shop for detailed college research on the go for current high school students.
College application and preparation is one of the most stressful and nerve-racking periods of the youth. College Capital tries to alleviate a small portion of that stress and make it easier for students across all backgrounds to find and prepare for the college of their dreams. Our app seeks to promote interest in education beyond high school and help the 15 million secondary students in the US. Of the 3982 degree-granting postsecondary institutions in the United States, up-to-date data on 1007 colleges are included, such as acceptance rate, graduation rate, retention rate, average standardized test scores of admitted students, and ethnic composition. We have also included hyperlinks to the college’s website and information on each school’s tuition cost, percent financial aid, and pell grant rate. In addition, our app contains the top five popular majors and highest salary majors for each school. As high schoolers ourselves, we thought that this information is among the most valued in college selection. There is constant pressure from other peers and parents to decide on a major, and we know that making this decision at the age of 17-18 is extremely difficult. The inclusion of the majors section gives users the opportunity to find and explore unique fields of study offered at each institution as well as the major’s size and median earnings after graduation. Our main goal was to simplify the immense information found online and provide ease of access for its high school student users.
