Description

50 levels of addictive puzzling strategy fun! Play against your device or another player, taking it in turns to place triangular pieces on the board to fill up hexagons. When a hexagon has as many pieces within it as it has hexagons touching it, it explodes and sends its pieces to those hexagons, 'colonising' them and making them your own.

Gain bonuses by setting off chain reactions of explosions!

Once you've colonised the required percentage of hexagons for that level, you win and advance to the next level.

Plan your game wisely, as one wrong move can really turn the tables!

Features:
- 1-player and 2-player modes
- 50 levels!
- Hi-scores
- Special bonus hexagons
- Random boards
- Levels grow in difficulty
- Resume a saved game
- Start at any level you've previously reached in a 1-player game

2.0.5

- Compatibile with iOS 9-11.
- iPhone X support.
- Reduced memory overhead.

- Bugfix: If you enabled random boards, then starting a game via the "Start At Level" option to start at a specific level, it just picked a random board.
2.0.1
2016-06-16
Version 2.0.1:
- Bug fix: Due to a typo, it wasn't possible to win certain levels when you had random boards enabled.

From version 2.0:
- Completely re-written for iOS 9.
- Uses all new-fangled things like 3D Touch on the iPhone 6S/+ so you can press the app icon to start new games, resume an existing game, and start at a level you've previously reached in a 1-player game.
- Some simple, but lovely animations in the game and menus.
- The board will randomly add a special bonus hexagon every now and then.
- There are now 20 hi-score places.
- If your device terminates Colony in the background to free up some memory, your game should be saved for you to resume it when you re-launch Colony.

BUGFIXES:
- Special hexagons no longer trigger their bonus as part of a chain reaction. They will only trigger if they started it.
- Advancing to the next level in a 2-player game would quite often wipe the losing player's score. This was completely unintentional. You should now end the game with the right scores.

- I've fixed plenty of little issues whilst rewriting the game, and it runs much better now. I hope you enjoy the update to this game I wrote back in 2008! Many thanks to everyone who bought the game, and buys this new version, of course!

Ahiru,
Plays like "Culture"
If you have played Culture (here on App Store), you'll find this familiar.

You click a spot to add a color of yours. If there's no other pieces around, it will migrate/explode when you fill 3 parts of the spot, moving each piece to the adjacent spots. If you have like 6 pieces and there are less enemies pieces in the adjacent spots, they will migrate and "eat" the opponent's pieces. The objective is to claim the board.

Actually I haven't figure out the mechanics and to me it is pretty random the way the pieces jump and "eat" each other (just like Culture).

Anyhow, now it has a 2-player game, which is cool. This reminds me of the Microscope mini-game from The 7th Guest or the standalone game Ataxx.

- PS: -
I reported the "BAHAMA SUN DOT COM" user twice, but Apple doesn't seem to care about their costumers. Please, help the App Store community and report him as a spammer - no need to spam websites here, thank you very much.
DarkM,
Fun and challenging
I would have given 5 stars had there been more levels. On the surface the game seems very simple and it seemed as though like another reviewer wrote that some things happen at random. However, after playing a while and reading the directions a few times I was able to pick up on the methods and strategy. I am thrilled with the game. It is fun and challenging and I love the 2 player mode.
Jomskylark,
Not Bad
The UI is great, strategy is amazing-but it's the game that bugs me. I guess I'm just not the type of person to like this type of game, that's all. Other than that, it's fantastic.
Eric_I,
Good game but tougher than it looks
Enjoyable game but much more difficult than it looks. Well worth $.99. If you like games that are difficult to master get this game.
Bbbbnb,
.
Great game. Looking forward to improvements! Maybe should be 3 dollars but with improvements I'm sure itwill be worth the 5 dollars
