I am shocked to see this only has 3.9 stars. I am someone who will download 20-50 apps at a time and go through them, one by one, dropping them within minutes. You can tel after a while very quickly how worthless or useful an app is going to be. I haven’t personally been a fan of the other social investing platforms I’ve come across, they seem mostly hype driven, all momentum & technical, rocket ships to the moon, etc. I was on CommonStock for less than 10 minutes, and after posting a question I wanted a legitimate answer to, got a response with PARAGRAPHS of intelligent investment knowledge, answering in more detail than I could’ve imagined, for free, the question I had just posed. The comments and posts are articulate and seem to be based on fundamentals. As a value focused fundamental investor who likes to challenge ideas and learn new things, I absolutely love this app already!!

Buggy but Worth Checking Out!
I had several issues getting my account signed up and my brokerage linked prior to using the app. It's a Beta, so be patient.
Once in, you can see how this is the future of Fintwit, where ideas are shared and there's transparency on the quality of the idea. I've already incorporated other ideas into my portfolio!

Love Commonstock — definitely worth downloading and checking out. The UX is beautiful and it’s crazy informative. Great way to stay up to date and learn more about investing. It’s changed the game for me!

If you love FinTwit, you’ll love CommonStock.
CommonStock allows for more nuance and detail than the 280 character limit on Twitter and FinTwit.
The CommonStock community is great for discussing interesting trends, investing ideas, and anything else going on in the markets.
There are still some bugs to work out and UI fixes that the development team is working through, but they are very receptive to feedback and ideas for where to take the community to next.

Plaid doesn’t pop up when trying to link my brokerage.
Even after linking my account and making all settings public trade alerts are so dodgy my friends alerts don’t come through even though we’ve screenshared to make sure we all have the same settings.
Trades will sometimes show in a group thread but not on a persons page and vice versa.
This thing is turning into the thing its built to avoid....confusion.
Please work on tightening up what’s there before adding new features. My group is likely going to go back to group texts and shared excel sheets for now.
