Yoop635_45,
It’s not a subscription (revised)
I bought this app through the App Store for about $50 a year ago. The program worked well and was a useful resource until an update appeared in my iPad about a month ago offering the beginnings of the female model. After updating I was surprised that the app now only has VERY limited functionality. The program is holding me hostage until I “Upgrade” for another $50! No where did this program say it is an annual subscription when I initially bought it. Why do I have to pay again?? I emailed the app maker and of course there was no response to my request for help. There is no way to restore my previous, full-function app. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN. Boycott this app until your purchase is actually honored! It is unfortunate that I will remove it from my iPad and tell every medical professional I know in the Denver Colorado area to STAY AWAY....

UPDATE: Nicola at 3D4 contacted me with new information and assistance. It turns out I created the problem by (last year) cancelling my email service with gmail. This orphaned my account because I failed to update to my new email address with 3D4Medical. Nicola swapped my email accounts and my app works properly now. I apologize for concluding the app had turned into a subscription service (as others have...). Thankfully I received excellent support and rescind the scathing comments I made in haste above. I enjoy and value the app.
moonkara,
amazing app; could use an update/license option for artists
i'm not a medical student nor do i intend to be, but i AM an artist. this app is incredibly useful but it is expensive; for good reason, but i think there should be a license for artists specifically (to have access to the models and breakdowns of the models specifically; the videos primarily and things meant to go in huge detail are pretty unneccessary for the purposes i use the app for). plus maybe some 'model' modes for artists? idk, i'll definitely keep using the app, but i think that having professional artists come in and help design a license option for other artists would be good. this app is by FAR the bets app i've found for in depth explanations of the human anatomy
(side note: additional animations for muscles would also be amazing!! i love this app and i am aware its meant for the medical industry, but it can definitely stay like that and have features for artists as well)
all the devs are doing amazing and i definitely would reccommend this app if i knew any medical students personally LOL
Philosomed,
Best app for medical students
Complete Anatomy is the one stop shop for any medical student or student in allied health fields, who is searching for an all-inclusive anatomy app. Not only does this app have a detailed atlas of anatomy of every single organ system, but it also has amazing functions that argument one’s learning, like the ability to sections through tissues, animate the motions specific muscles, and specifically track nerves along complex pathways. This app also has included courses that are in-app purchases, but are very worthwhile when studying, and you know that your lecture material from school isn’t helpful. The lectures included in the app definitely guide you along structures and functions you need to know for specific area. The app is also a great way for health professionals to promote patient education about symptoms they might be experiencing or their conditions. One can simply pull out the app and demonstrate to patient why they are feeling pain in the neck or joints by animating the motion of those muscles and showing where the problem may be!
doctorfeelbad,
outstanding, please fix one thing
I finished med school in 2014 and it’s startling to me that we’ve gone from paging through an anatomy atlas to this incredible interactive resource in that short time. I don’t think it’s a reach to call it game changing. I’m glad to have it now and wish it were around back in the “dark ages” (2009) when I was learning anatomy.

OK, having said that, I managed to find something to complain about: I really enjoy using the ipad pro with the magic keyboard and the app does not integrate well with the keyboard. can’t click on items with the trackpad and manipulating images with it is buggy. not sure if an update of the keyboard (from apple) or from the app itself is needed but a solution would be greatly appreciated as using the keyboard which works very well with other apps I use spares the beautiful images in the app (and screen) from my grimey fingers. Thanks!

REVISED REVIEW: I am a health care professional. This used to be a good app but certain videos don’t run, and the anatomy models have taken a turn for the worse. They have no phone support unlike Visible Body, their competitor who does. When they did have phone support they didn’t return my phone calls. They keep wanting to make changes to the app to make it better but what is happening is that it crashes more and is less responsive. They don’t seem to know how to leave well enough alone. And the final straw is that they are now a part of a big conglomerate called Elsevier, a loser company that I remember from nursing school. UPDATE and/or addition to previous comment. Just got the 2023 version and they butchered it. Videos/Courses don’t work (play) so save your money till they get it right. Every time they do an update things go south. Very frustrating!!j

UPDATE: Well I did call customer no-service and also sent emails about certain course videos that continue not to work. Check my emails and see that there has been NO RESPONSE. You don’t care one bit about your paying customers and you know it. You just don’t like bad reviews so you’re kinda forced to answer.
Rx4oblivion,
Unscrupulous developer
I bought this as a one time purchase of about $80 a few years ago, knowing that you needed a subscription to get access to cross sectional anatomy. I was satisfied with system based anatomy layers for my professional purposes. One day, I opened it up, and it had reverted to the unpaid version. There was no option to restore my purchase. I contacted customer service, and they informed me that they converted to a subscription based service only, and rescinded all access to the app for me and others like me unless we wanted to buy a subscription. No warning. No apology. No offer to apply my prior purchase towards a subscription. They just took my money and told me to deal with it. It was a nice app, but if they are this cavalier with their customer’s purchases (which are substantial by App Store standards), I can’t bring myself to trust them with any more money.

Think hard before you fork it over. If you buy a paper anatomy textbook, you’ll own it forever. If you buy from these clowns, they will obliterate your purchase on a whim under the auspices of “updating content.” So ridiculous.
Amari429,
Looking for More
I’m a pre-Med student, and I really love the design of this app. The realism is amazing and the details and easy of function is delightful. In deciding which app to purchase for an anatomy and physiology study and exploration tool I came across complete anatomy because it was very attractive and the free trial truly gave me a sense of need for the app. I would love for the app to sky rocket in improvements and updates, and I really hope we can surpass the features found in some of the other options offered for 3D Anatomy and Physiology platforms. My biggest anticipation is hopefully a feature to take complete cross section of the model to be able to compare to cadaver and CT scans as seen in Human Anatomy Atlas. I would also love for the ability to search content as well. Also more pathology, clinical and physiology related material would take this app to a whole new level and I would be extremely thrilled to find that in future updates! Keep up the greatness Complete Anatomy!
WVBennyBoy,
Has been a great resource throughout the years
I have used this company’s apps since their conception way back when I was in high school almost 10 years ago. They have helped me out a lot throughout the years. I do wish the iPad app would work with my Magic Mouse 2 now that it is supported on almost all my other apps. I also miss the quizzes I could create on previous versions. With that being said when my student subscription ends it will be the end of my journey with this app for me. The subscription model may be worth it for some just starting their anatomical studies but for me it is not worth a yearly payment. If the app offers a 1 time purchase perhaps I will reconsider re-downloading the application again as a reference.
If you are a college student or even in a graduate program such at PT or OT this app is worth the subscription while you’re in school.
Coolj=>,
Debating
I really like the idea of this app, where you can look at different structures and pay close attention to nearly every little thing in the body. However I really hate that every app you turn to instead of giving you the option to flat out buy the content, requires you to pay a subscription. I would much rather pay $100 or $200 for an app such as this one as opposed to slyly paying the company $35 for one year, $75 the next, and so on. It feels tacky, and most of all, it will end up costing the user much more than if they had simply bought the license offered previously. My guess is that the thinly veiled disguise of “versatility” given by the developers is no more than an excuse to grab as much cash from the pockets of desperate college students. I will search for different applications that give you the option to purchase their product, as opposed to merely renting it. It’s a shame, I really did love this app...
KKsweetiepie55,
Purchase
I loved this app, but as I took a break from my iPad for a while and returned to the app, I could no longer have access to the full version! I could have sworn I bought it, and I know for a fact I used it on this device, as I showed my friends because I absolutely adored this app. Perhaps I instead downloaded a trial? But everything I had is now gone.

Edit: I updated the app and found all of my stuff has returned. Thank god <3 I love this app.
They added a female pelvis, but I truly hope that a female model will come soon. The male body should not be the default. On a side note, my device keeps insisting I restore my purchase, it does it successfully, then I have access, but it goes out and then I have to restore again.

At the moment, it keeps saying it restored but hasn't given my models and app back. I currently cannot use the app because of this.

Every part of the female pelvis refers back to what that is to the male anatomy, but the male anatomy does not do the same. The male body is displayed as the default, and the rest of the female anatomy is not even available outside of the pelvis. This is lacking and incompetent for an app on human anatomy. And during the search, male-specific parts do not have a male symbol, but female parts do.

Please fix the glitch, add a female model, rephrase sections to be more professional and competent, and organize the sex-specific organs so that I might actually be able to learn properly from this app.
