Description

Conscience+ is a new Decision Making Aid™ designed by psychologist and behavioral economist Dan Ariely, bestselling author of Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality, and the soon to be released The Honest Truth about Dishonesty.

Conscience+ is here to help you through life’s most perplexing moral dilemmas. Based on the latest insights about human decision making, Conscience+ gives you the excuses you need to justify doing what you want to do -- whether it is something good you aspire to, OR something more shady and less moral. Think of Conscience+ as providing both an angel and a devil, sitting on your shoulder and available for advice at the flip of a switch.

Conscience+ helps with:

• turning away the dessert menu
• splurging on a new electronic gadget
• staying faithful to your romantic partner
• padding your expense report on your boss’s dime
• lying on your college application
• and much, much more!

Disclaimer: We don’t really want you to make immoral decisions, so please limit your use of Conscience+ in justifying bad behavior.

Andru A,
This is why
Behavioral economics is a joke. Observing what people do or don't do, will never tell you what you should or shouldn't do.
Teophilus,
A bad joke

It is biased. People who think the reasons the app gives are ok should ask themselves how biased are they. If u take it for a playing app, well it is a bad one. If you take it seriously it simply is biased and terrible in certain fundamental questions. If the author has such an erroneous approch in his books, well ill never by any of them. The app is an evidence of flawed reasonig and moral confussion. Sorry, but had to be said.
Alexfi24,
Meh- nothing special
This is a decent idea but execution is oversimplified and gimmicky. There is real behavioral science that could be used for this but instead Ariely and his team used basic, rudimentary explanations and excuses.

Not impressed.
peezer,
Entertaining and creative
Feature request: shake the phone to 'randomly' assign user to good or bad conscience. And make it 50/50 odds so that good and evil are balanced in the universe.
anableps,
Interesting... I think. Can't read it!
The lists where it's black text on dark gray, in small font size... It's nearly unreadable. Ask a graphic designer to give it a once over and you'll be golden.
