It's the year 2222. Humans have managed to populate six planets and moons in our solar system. Recently, highly destructive weapons of unknown origin have been appearing on every world that we inhabit. They seem to appear out of nowhere. When the weapon explodes the results are catastrophic. The weapon has become known as "The Core".

In response to this threat, every populated world is tasked with teleporting a hovercraft and pilot to each location that a Core appears. Each pilot is given only one command: Capture the Core before it explodes.

Each pilot (and the world they represent) is incentivized to capture as many Cores as possible. Large rewards are given to both the pilot and their respective world. This has turned out to be a double-edged sword. The positive result is that each pilot is highly motivated to capture every Core they can. The negative result is that, given the sizes of the rewards, pilots have found it beneficial to occasionally "remove" other pilots trying to achieve the goal of capturing the same Core.
