Description
A cryptogram, sometimes called cryptoquip, is a word puzzle based on a phrase or quote that has been encrypted by letter substitution. For example, the word 'FUN' might be encrypted as 'GHK.' By looking at the patterns in the decrypted text, the length of the words, and other context clues - you'll slowly decode the phrase or quote until it's back to its original text. I realize this paragraph you just read might sound dull - but believe me, these puzzles are super fun and addicting!
While often found in the world of pencil and paper puzzles - this app gives a easy, clean way to solve these word puzzles without killing any trees. You can choose between the traditional layout (encrypted text appears below your decrypted text). Or you can switch to the 'condensed' layout I've invented just for this app - where you can see the encrypted and decrypted text all at once (it sounds confusing, but I think you'll end up really liking it).
With the recent popularity of puzzles like Sudoku or KenKen, it's easy to forget that there are some really great word puzzles to keep your mind sharp. Cryptograms will push your brain to think in different ways, and really make you work through your whole vocabulary trying when trying to come up with an answer.
The app comes with a starter pack of 20 puzzles for you to try out and see if cryptogams are your thing. If they are, there are several more packs of puzzles available through the app - and I'm always working on more I'll be adding in on a regularly basis.

a few users asked for the ability to see a puzzle's solution, so, it has become an option in the hints menu. now not only will the app train your brain to solve coded messages, it'll also improve your will power as you struggle to avoid cheating!
by popular demand the option to purchase all packs in one fell swoop has been returned to the app.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I've tried to add in most of the features you all mentioned you like to see:
**Puzzle List now remembers where you were, so no more having to scroll every time!**
**Color bar now appears when you reach the bottom of a puzzle, so you'll have a visual reminder if you haven't gotten to the bottom yet!**

Love this APP!
I could be happier, I suppose, but this satisfies keeps my brain cells stimulated, and therefore, happy. I time myself sometimes, so if I were going to make any additions, a timer would be fun. The only other thing I MIGHT change is that I have used the same letter twice in a couple of the quotes and the game doesn't keep me from using that letter a second time. It has only happened once, but it was a mistake that took a while to figure out. Other than that one little sniffle, i have to say that I like this app a lot - enough that I have not looked at - or shopped for - any others!

Fun game
I love cryptograms but I hadn’t done them for some time. Then I ran across a pack of printed cryptograms that I had printed out a long time ago to take with me when I fly. This was before the popularity of iPhones. I thought, “ I bet there’s an app for that.” And I found your game.
After I went through the free puzzles, I bought the app at a very reasonable price. I’m continuing to enjoy it very much. And I don’t have to carry around loads of printed ones!

This app is great. The puzzles are challenging, and I feel like I'm actually using my brain. Please come out with more puzzle packs please! I bought the full version and I NEVER buy full versions, so yea, this app is pretty fantastic. Also, why on earth would someone want to know how many of each letter is in the puzzle??? Please don't do that. I enjoy the challenge. Thank you, and again, more puzzle packs please!!!

ALMOST Excellent
I bought the whole set of puzzles, and I am really enjoying them. I'm fine with the format and the way it works. The change I would like to see is a more thoughtful selection of puzzle content. I think content does matter – if it didn't, we could just decode lists of recipe ingredients. In the "Quotes" set of puzzles, check out the quotes by
Margaret Drabble, Andrew Carnegie, and Matt Groening. I'd be much happier to be rewarded with a positive, encouraging thought after completing a puzzle, instead of these downers.

Great game!
I really enjoy playing this game. It is super easy to play and the puzzles are a real challenge. I especially like the the prompts that tell you your moves every step of the way. I also like the 2nd hint option for when I'm really stuck or just too tired to try hard. I've enjoyed the different categories and look forward to purchasing more cryptograms!

I love Cryptoquotes but wasn't able to find a good app until this one. I bought the full version - which is rare for me to do. I've finished them all and reloaded it to start again. Thankfully there are enough puzzles that I don't remember all of them and they still challenge me. Great app! Please add more packs 🤗.

Need More Puzzle Packs!
I love cryptograms. This app is great for solving them. Quick, easy, can reset multiple times when you go down a bad path. BUT - I bought the packs package and I've finished all of them. Now what?? No more puzzles available?? Would be 5 stars except for that.
Another reviewer suggested the app going automatically to the next puzzle when you complete one. Great idea! Hate scrolling up and down.

Issue with UI
Long story short this is an Enigma type game. However. Let’s say I want to change the letter K (original letter being K) to T and then change K to O instead. I have to go and click Undo and then select either K or T (I don’t remember which and that’s part of the issue) and click it to undo my change. It’s clunky and weird and not like any enigma game I’ve played before. A shame as I enjoy the logic puzzle game app by this same app author, and that is a game I recommend.

I have enjoyed Cryptograms very much. I don't usually buy games, I just go for the free version and leave it at that. But I had to have all the puzzles on this one. Great job. Would like to see a "reset all puzzles" on the settings page, though. Of course, further packs of puzzles wouldn't be bad either!

Some enhancements would make it better
Unlike many electronic cryptogram solvers, this one has no provision for a letter count (eg, there are 12 Q's, 9 P's, 7 R's, etc, in the puzzle). If it's there, I haven't found it. Also, given the finite number of puzzles you can buy, it would be nice to be able to load one's own puzzles. But it does work smoothly and efficiently.
