Pretty Good
I have had this app for quite some time. I used to have the older version and I thought that it had some benefits over the new version.
I could have 100+ people in one group text and it would send out a text.
I could send multiple texts to the group and still have them in my text list. Now I have to delete them after they are sent so that the new one will be sent as a mass text not a group text.
Even so it sure is a pretty darn handy app!

Reliable (Update)
I am updating my rating. Upon installing the latest IOS 14.2.1, Custom Group Text is no longer functioning correctly. The in app text bubble can be typed into but since the bubble is now translucent, the send button cannot be pressed. Only the prior sent text bubble or recipients can be successfully edited. I’m not sure if this is an IOS issue or app issue, but I hope it is fixed soon as we have come to rely on this app to share ministry related information. Currently, the app is nonfunctional so I have reduced my prior rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. I will revisit this rating if or when a fix is provided. My original review is below:
We have been using this app to share ministry related information with the members of our church. It has worked reliably and consistently without hiccup. To avoid any potential issues with IOS, we limit group sizes to not more than 20 contacts each.

Reliable and meets all our needs
We’re a martial arts school in Alexandria, Virginia and use Custom Group Text to send our members scheduling updates and information on our products and services. This app is easy to use because we simply create a group in our smart phone address book and, then, access it from within the app to send a group text message. We can do all of this in less than five minutes. Thus, it’s a real time saver and it has never crashed. So, it is also reliable. Highly recommended!

AMAZING TOOL!
I am the General Manager / Partner of a new car dealership, I use this tool to reach all 100-plus of our Associates at a touch of a button! I also break down text groups for my Sales Associates, Sales Managers, Finance Managers, Service Advisors, Technicians. and Office Staff... It makes it so easy to call a store wide meeting or more importantly to send motivational messages to specific groups... GREAT APP - I've been using it for over 5 years and would never want to be without it...

Prayer tool
I’ve used this app since this app became available (over 10 years). I use it to send out a scripture every morning to over 70 people. It is a great tool to keep all group texts as a one to one text. The last update makes it difficult to paste my scripture. I know it’s a quick fix but it hasn’t been done. Overall it is a great app!

Could be Better
App does a good job, but recently forced me to shrink my groups down to no more than 20 contacts per group which forces me to duplicate the message multiple times again. This still does prevent me from having to send 100 individual messages or retype each contact every time I want to send a mass message.

Disappointed.
Bought this app with very high expectations based on its reviews, but after trying to send several messages to a group of 40 people, I’m pretty let down. My messages keep getting broken into 4 or 5 separate messages and are often out of order. Not sure if I’m just doing something wrong, but I just can’t seem to get it to work. It works when I try sending messages to groups with 2-3 people in them, but seems to really struggle with anything larger.

Serves the purpose
I’ve used a couple and this one has the consistent best. The older version seemed slightly better. The text doesn’t send completely now but it does set it up and then I just have to go to my text and hit send. Still the best for keeping my groups together.

Best App I’ve found!
I’ve been with this App from Day 1! I’ve made many attempts to try other apps but I always come back home to this one! The only issue I have is I’m not able to send pictures when I initiate a text! Other than that I love the growth and the commitment to improving!

Somewhat disappointed
Somehow I formed the impression this app would send the selected group the text out as individual text messages. That way I would get individual responses and not start a texting rampage. But recipients can still reply to all (by default) so this has not met my expectations. I’m middle of the road trip n rating since this ‘may’ be my usage and not the app.
