I play cutthroat as a means to exercise my brain. At 75, I’ve started to see my brain lose its sharpness and I use Pinochle as a means to counter the creeping signs of dementia. Besides, I’ve been a pinochle addict most of my life. I recommend it to all my friends especially those who’ve forgotten how to play. This game teaches you! My daughter, who’d never learned the game, was able to learn it in a few hours! It’s fun!

My opposing players do not use the “ten” card in trump properly when playing out the hands.

For example, if an opponent of mine of has 2 cards remaining, the queen and the 10 of trump, and I have the jack and the ace of trump, if I lead the jack of trump, my opponent will play the queen, winning the trick, but getting no points, and will then lose the ten to my ace. My opponent should have played the ten to beat my jack, in order to get a point.

been playing pinochle for 50+ years but hard to find people todayvthat know how to play. app is enjoyable and keeps my playing sharp. lots of options. very much like playing live 3 handed. only down side is no matter how you play when you are getting close to winning the mandatory opening bid falls to you. and more often the not you end up going set because being dealt the winning hand doesnt usually happen. you can follow the progression but that doesnt take away from the enjoyment of playing. game has lots of options which are nice too.

Would be helpful if you separate card suits because having same colored suits next to each other makes it a challenge to identify

I feel like I ‘m cheating when I know that when an opponent gets in the lead, he/she will lead all of their aces. In addition, opponents do not play defense, for example trying to get to partner in defense for a lead through declarer. It is however, fun to play.

Played thousands of games and the challengers do a pretty fair job of playing. They are a little predictable but play well as a team when I have the bid.

I’ve seen many times when the person with a big point lead is not stuck with a bid. Player with no chance takes the bid rather than “sticking” the leader. Also, I often see where the two players behind are not throwing each other points to battle the point leader.

I have been playing this game for a couple of years, all of a sudden it got jerky moves when playing hands, it just doesn’t seem it working properly

Can we change the value for Pinochle (jack spade/queen diamond) when bidding and melding? Playing the card game I accustomed to, Pinochle's value is 15pts in Cutthroat. There are 2 scenarios when Pinochle's meld is 15pts: when you bid or if someone has bid before you. If you pass before someone has bid, it's worth 4pts.
