Description
What are CVC words? CVC words are words that follow the pattern consonant-vowel-consonant. They are the simplest words and the starting point of many phonics programs (after studying letter sounds). These words highlight the short vowels such as the a in cat, the e in bed, the I in fin, the o in top, and the u in sub.
This game is a great way for your child to identify CVC words they commonly use in the classroom. They will have a choice of working with CVC words or the images the CVC words represent.
They can play in three modes:
Practice Mode - This mode is great for a child just beginning to learn CVC words. They can select which level they would like to practice and if they pick the wrong answer it will help them learn the correct one.
Words - This mode challenges your child by earning points for each correct answer. They will be given 4 CVC words and asked to pick the correct one based on its component sounds.
Images - This mode works the same as Words, except now your child is given 4 images the CVC words represent and asked to pick the correct one based on its component sounds. If they make 3 mistakes they have to start the level over. Complete all 5 levels to win.
