khjfdjfjdke,
Anyone with the most minor interest in art needs this app
Anyone with the most minor interest in art, needs this app; it will create a great lover of art out of you. Honestly, I think anyone at all needs this app, there isn’t a single person I know who doesn’t appreciate some paintings, even if not others, which is the beauty of this app. It is the most unobtrusive entry into the world of art, featuring pieces taken from the most famous museums and galleries around the world and smaller ones that are lesser known, that introduce you to things you would have never found otherwise. The method is pretty simple, 1 piece a day with a short bit about what you’re looking at underneath. That’s it, there you go. If you don’t like todays, wait till tomorrow. And bit by bit, you start to enter into the vast world of art and movements and cultures and it becomes really cool and also beautiful. I suggest paying to remove ads, it’s not expensive and it let’s you click around freely, search for specific pieces, look at your favorites, etc. Another feature I love is that the pictures of the art when you click on them each day typically are very high resolution, much nicer than what you can find on the internet, and you can zoom in and out and really see so much detail that you would otherwise only be able to see if you were there at the museum, potentially halfway across the world.
Ethan, SPT,
Perfect for beginners
I have been using DailyArt for 4 years years now, since I was a sophomore in college. Before that, I didn’t have much experience in the art realm as far as history went. I mainly knew that I had an ability to appreciate art, that it made me happy to look at and analyze a piece, and that it made me think critically about something other than school which I have appreciated ever since downloading this app. DailyArt curates works everyday so that I don’t have to go out looking on my own and they have introduced me to so many artists I wouldn’t have otherwise stumbled upon. This app has become my escape from the busy life as a student now in a doctoral program, allowing me to slip away into the wonderful world of art and push the stress of exams, deadlines, etc away even if it is just for a moment. I highly recommend this app to any beginner (and seasoned art connoisseur as well) wanting to learn about art from around the world and establish a solid base. The diversity of works presented allows you to develop your own tastes so that you can go out and research your preferred style even more. It has become part of my daily routine and I recommend reading the daily work over breakfast with a warm cup of coffee and a pastry😁
hotburger,
First bug problem encountered
I love this app, especially the widget options. I have this on a page of my phone along with a smaller widget of zen quotes. The app has taught me so much about art, and I love that we also get snippets of the artist’s life which give so much more color to the artwork. I have discovered quite a few instantly favorite artists (Joaquin Sorolla) and I do enjoy the days that show more diversity in art. For what the developers are currently able to manage art history-wise, I’m satisfied.

I’ve had this app over a year and have just encountered my first issue with it - the widget no longer refreshes daily. It is stuck on the previous day’s art until I open the app, let it refresh, then close out. After that, the widget shows the current day’s art. If I don’t open the app, it will stay stuck on that day’s art for days until opened again.
医生latte,
Impossible to use
Exited to use the app, but when I downloaded it, in less than a minute I was already presented two ads. One at the bottom of the screen which blocked the art of the day, and the second because I wanted to tap the art to see it full. You are constantly bombarded with subscription offers. You cant access the history of most artists without having a subscription, as if their life can only be read through the app itself. There is a bit of lag as well, but I’m not sure if others have the same problem. It appears the placement of uncountable ads is new, and others who were not subscribed could still have an enjoyable experience using the app. Take a note from word of the day, they dont force the ads down others throats, they allow the user to see the ads when they want in exchange for offers only allowed to people who are subscribed, but the ads themselves are never shown without the person choosing to see them. This isn’t leading to others purchasing the subscription, rather making them leave the app completely. It could be a really high quality app if you chose to take away at least half of your ads and their placements.
Miraculous Journey of Ed T,
Great app! Could use more diversity!
The app is great! You get a short readable blurb every day to learn about art pieces. They also provide “extra-curricular” readings at the end of every day’s blurb if you want more information and art for the day! In addition, there are information on art movements and artist biography.
However, as some have pointed out, there lacks diversity. Most of the art is Eurocentric with occasional scatterings of Japanese artwork. Very rarely do we get anything outside of that. The information and descriptions for non-European art is usually shorter too. It might be because staff have studied mostly European art and I’m very glad that the creator had the passion to make this app in the first place to share art with everyone. But, there is so much cool and interesting art from other parts of the world that rarely ever get spotlight in art mentionings (outside of this app). It’s just so much untapped potential I would love to see Daily Art tap into more! I do appreciate that they are offering more language options though!
17LAZER,
Steeped in knowledge of fine arts
This is a delicious, informative, and open e-magazine on the fine arts. Each day I cannot wait to see the art work for the day. Sophisticated, knowledgeable art historians who volunteer to educate the readership are selected to dive deeper about a specific artist with fascinating insight. So many times these extraordinary Daily Art masterpieces have lifted me out from a deeply depressed state. This site has directly influenced me to take beginning drawing classes but most importantly, each day it rekindles a hope that through the arts humanity is granted another opportunity to renew and to redeem itself. Daily Art encompasses and includes art worldwide. I have seen the phenomenal efforts by its CEO to be not only inclusive with respect to art and artists globally but to reach out to people world wide such that translators from every non English speaking locations have been sought so that people the world over can freely benefit and have the same opportunity to enjoy Daily Art Magazine (online) as those who live in the West.
Rhondalay,
Figures…
I am being punished for recent complaint email. A recent picture, the information given for that picture said something about the artists racism. It really was not any thing to do with the art piece itself, which was a beautiful piece. So I sent them a note to tell them I was disappointed, and that they should leave politics out of this… Politics has nothing to do with enjoying and learning about art works. I have supported them with a paid full subscription. Now I can’t see the most recent offering of art, it just keeps spinning and won’t load any artwork…tried twice today, morning and evening. These people are about as immature as they come, I do not recommend them at all.
(If I’m able to access the art for my paid subscription within the next day or so, I’ll come back and edit this. Otherwise I request a refund. )
naerial,
Exactly what I was looking for
I’ve always wanted to learn more about art but never knew where to start. Art museum audio tours were usually pretty shallow and uninspired and didn’t help my learning.

This app and the daily widget is amazing. It helps me discover new artists and pieces that I wouldn’t have ever seen otherwise, while also learning more about the artist, the time period, the style, and the impact it all had.

My only complaint is that I feel like some features shouldn’t be premium gatekept. I want to be able to search up art pieces to learn more about them when I stumble on them organically, but I can’t do that. My exploration of an artist or piece always ends abruptly because I don’t have access to any of their other piece descriptions. I wouldn’t mind something like having a limit of 3-5 pieces per month or something, but it does feel like it’s actively discouraging people from learning more about art.
Astrophysics wannabe,
Perfection Has Been Ruined
This used to be the single best app I had. Content, graphics, usability - all perfection. I had the original paid version, which is only slightly different to the original free version. I would reference it daily to enjoy learning about art and art history and share with people I know. Many people signed up after seeing how wonderful this app used to be.

However, since the recent update, it’s utter mediocrity and disappointment. There are obnoxious and loud ads that pop up out of nowhere. Bottom ads that have an “x” to close, but open to inform you you can’t close them unless you pay. The beautiful content is cheapened and lost in this update with ads. Any upgrades to true usability are lessened tremendously by the ads update. It’s no longer extraordinary; just extra-ordinary.

Daily Art Developers, there are other ways to generate income in the app, even with ads and subscription options. This is cheap and poor and insulting to your loyal users who’ve been with you for years. It’s so offensive that there’s no way I’m paying to use this app.
Soitgoes11,
New version
New version is fine except i was promised it would be faster and it is not. It is slower than the old version.

More so the summaries included with the art are lacking, such as the art of the garden path at the rodin museum, nowhere in the summary does it mention WHICH rodin museum this is from, and it says MAY be reminiscent of paris, however there is a rodin museum in paris not sure since when but that was my knowledge only until being forced to google whether there was another one somewhere. Why would the summary talk mostly of the writer rather than the location of the image in the art? I don’t care about your personal feelings or opinions about the art. I want to know about the art itself.

And these pop ups asking me to review the app popping up immediately after i said “later” is annoying. Later does not mean in 2 seconds. So you got your review now stop asking.
