Up With This Beanstalk!
Dark Parables:Jack and the Sky Kingdom is another winner in this lovely series from Blue Tea Games. I own all that are available for iPad, I think. Each one is intricately illustrated, and a true joy to play. For starters, there are additional Morphing Objects to collect in each scene. Obviously, this story is loosely based on Jack and the Beanstalk, but it just takes off on a tangent from there! Much like the previous Dark Parables, the Hidden Object scenes are usually three sections where you find objects that combine their parts to make an Inventory Item. The hint usually points you to the appropriate part of your scene and lets you try to solve it. There are beautiful puzzles, such as the cut out scenes where you manipulate items until you reach your goal. For example, switch the flowers, make the Wizard rain on the beanstalk, and climb to the Sky Kingdom. Clever, and more entertaining than many other games. There is an interactive map that is helpful. When I realized that this was a new Blue Tea offering, I purchased it even before playing the trial! Now I am into the game, and really enjoying myself despite a heavy thunderstorm outside! Get this Dark Parable while you can!

If I rated based on beauty, it would be a 5-star game. Gorgeous graphics and cut-scenes! But I don't! I rate on playability and enjoyment. This game wasn't all that long, even with bonus adventure. The only HO scenes are where you put together a fragmented, albeit gorgeous, item. The puzzles/ mini-games did not have enough variety, and most were boring. But the worst part was that you had to tap incredibly hard when picking up items and moving between locations. At least load time was instantaneous between scenes, and inventory was labeled. When you received an item in an HO scene, it said what it was. There was a map, but it was neither teleporting nor did it mark the location with an active task, just an objective. (Unless it was an HO scene and then it was marked with a star).
I love the series, but this was my least favorite of the whole series. At least NO RATS to make me even more irritated! Blue Tea, in the next one, can you please make objects easier to tap and give us a teleport map? Also, the game could be lengthened and have more puzzles as well thanx!

Blue Tea Games wins again!
Ok, ok, I get you, this game was not perfect. You had to tap multiple times to get HO items, and maybe there were too many "put the pieces together" HO's. But the voice-overs were incredible, and the graphics were Perfect and more beautiful than any I have ever seen. Blue Tea was meticulous about the details, and the music was superb. So what that the map was useless, the plot and precision were marvelous. I have played every Dark Parables game, and as soon as Blue Tea finishes the next one (Repunzel) I will buy it too. There are other companies out there that get maps better, and have much better touch, but no one has a prettier game that makes you want to keep playing than Blue Tea!

Dark Parables: Jack and the Sky Kingdom
I have loved all of the series. I loved fairy tales and even in college took classes that offered them. This is beautifully done, the artwork is gorgeous and the music is very soothing. We are jewelers and also collect many old pieces that are used in the devices here. That is a delight. I wish we could redo the puzzles that had you search for the beautiful jewelry and devices in the extra section. The music is lovely too...but I would like a nicer transition between the tunes. Those aren't big deals...it would just make it even better. Bring on Rapunzle!

Delightful Surprise Excellent
My new puppy Raven and I are so excited to play this new exceptional Blue Tea Game just like the others in the series this has interesting story amazing graphics great voice overs and teleporting map inventory items are labeled great clear HOS interesting puzzles morphing items to find did not even wait to play trial before purchasing and no regrets have no had any problems so far but not very far along if you like the Dark Parables series you will want this game also Map is not teleporting

Great story poor update
I had trouble with the hidden objects to the point of frustration because items would not always respond to the first tap. They required multiple tabs or enlarged picture to respond. Also, The map did not allow you to move quickly between locations but just showed you the location you needed to go to. In addition, The legend was not always accurate because there was no objective to be done at the location it indicated. when you pushed hint, it told you to go to different location from the map. Graphics and story was great.

Gosh, Blue Tea does make a beautiful game. The graphics, the voice overs, the fluidity of the game (no loading is really nice), the storyline -- well, Blue Tea just excels at this.
However -- a few flaws. It just seemed like I was randomly picking up charms...there was very little interaction with other characters. So I felt like I was just tapping the entire screen without really knowing why, but to make sure I was collecting everything. And because I was picking up so many items (without really knowing why) and the fragmented HOPs, it felt like an exercise in fingertapping -- and some of the touch points required a little too much of an exact tap.
This one...well, it was just not my cup of (blue) tea. I normally love this series, but I think I'll pass on Jack.

Fun game, gorgeous music
This is not the first 'Dark Parables' game I have played. I always buy them as soon as they come out because they are so much fun. In this game, we accompany Jack (of beanstalk fame) to the sky kingdom to save the world. No pressure. Hee hee
What struck me here was the music. As always, the game is fun. But with most games, I end up turning down the music because it gets annoying. In this game, I went back and listened to it even after finishing the game. It is that pretty. We need more Parables!

Could have been 5 but....
.Could have been 5 stars but only 4 for the following reasons- map wasn't really helpful as it was not interactive at all, way to many difficult hos. They were very cluttered to me and objects a bit difficult to find, especially if you're a bit color blind like me. They had to be tapped a couple times at times but not always. Just way to many hos for my taste. Otherwise it played very well. Interesting story with absolutely beautiful graphics, great dialogue too. Fun overall

Beautiful, logical, as are all in this series.
The game is logical, easy to navigate, and beautifully drawn. The stories fit the game tasks, the hidden object games are precisely drawn and naturally hidden, and the additional games are interesting and vary in their difficulty levels. This makes it playable by any gamer level. This is one of my favorite hidden object game series, I look forward to the new games and I purchase them as they become available.
