The two free tours that are actually of Belfast (some you have to pay for, and some are places well outside of Belfast), are very good. They cover a lot of ground and teach you interesting facts about the city. They cover a reasonable distance most able-bodied people could handle just fine, and the accompanying pics are helpful. Also, the narration’s transcript is a great way to make the content accessible for all!
I do wish the order of the sites made more sense. In the Your Belfast tour, the tour has you walking up and down and crossing back and forth on the same street a lot instead of just discussing each site as you would encounter them. This can make things harder to find (for those of us who don’t have data plans abroad and can’t just pull up a map) and succeeds in making you look lost to people watching you. (Side note: the people of Belfast are super kind and offer to help you a lot when this happens!) I also wish there was a little bit of a break between items in each of the sites on the Your Belfast tour to give you time to get to them. There is a pause button, but because the narrator doesn’t so much as take a breath before moving on, it can be easy to miss when you’re supposed to move. Finally, I wish the narration would not unpause itself while you’re getting from place to place. Overall, though, this is solid, and it helped make my trip to Belfast great!
