raaaaaaave,
Classic
I never ever write reviews but this game is worthy. It’s such a beautifully simple game. I agree with a lot of the reviews that talk about ways to improve the game. It definitely has lots of room for growth but I’m also pretty happy with the simplicity of what it is now as well. It’s a really good game to pass some time here and there, and personally, I don’t really get tired of it.
There are some reviews I read about it being unfair/hard to win/etc and in the beginning, it’s a little confusing but it gets easier because you start to understand the curveballs they may throw at you. So you really have to take your time with each spread and strategize.
For example, sometimes, you’re gonna have to probably sacrifice the champ cards directly onto your fighter to avoid decreasing the number on your block card, which could come in more handy the next spread of cards. (This actually took me a few games to figure out to use as part of my strategy)
Every game I play takes me a while to get through because I think through each option that I have per spread and I try to see what my best play is.
All in all, I think you should definitely give it a try. I will never delete this game.
Steve-🤣,
Great game. Would be even better if it had...
I love this game. Most of the time when I download games that are repetitive I have them for a week then just delete them. Deck em, on the other hand, I will never delete. I’ve always been a big fan of solitaire and card games in general and this gives a really fun spin to games like solitaire. The only thing that would make this game even better would just be more game modes. For example a campaign which provide you with different opponents and would allow you to earn cool rewards such as when you beat that opponent you unlock them to be used as a skin. Or you could even make a mode were u can actually beat the champ or other foes. This may sound like any other game but you could even add a multiplayer mode were you would play it almost like a card battle were instead of fighting the champ who has unlimited health, you would vs off against another player who has an even amount of health as you were you can throw lucky’s, haymakers, etc. I know the multiplayer seems I little over the top and complicated but I think that the campaign would add a fun sense of completion to the game.
Likeflint,
Absolutely awesome game! A few additions would really make it pop
First of all this is a really fun card game. Kind of like boxing solitaire. The mechanics are really well-made and feel fair. I also like the ability to bet on yourself, although I wish it were more clear if the odds predicted difficulty difficulty of the deck or if they are randomly chosen. Not a big deal, I guess that’s part of the thrill of betting. But one thing I do think could be added is something to spend all that money on. I think the obvious thing would be to add the ability to purchase your own gym and supplies. Or maybe cars and bling. Even if it were only aesthetic just having a room to call your own and spend some of that money on would be a nice little motivator to keep coming back for more. Alternatively, you could add cosmetic differences to the fighter cards. Another possible addition would be more variety in the champ cards, perhaps connected to how much money you have earned. Regardless, these are all just a minor suggestions for a really great game which I will continue to play, even if it doesn’t change at all. It is just a great way to burn some time, and is a great addition to any puzzle lover’s collection.

Deck ‘Em! is exactly what it says on the box. It’s a solitaire style game in you are pitted against a randomly shuffled deck of cards and are required to puzzle out a solution to survive 12 turns. This is done by collecting offensive and defensive cards and using them against randomly drawn opponent cards of various difficulties.

The concept is done very well and is surrounded by a beautiful cartoonish art style. Unfortunately the game suffers from a lack of depth. There is only one deck and winning and loosing can sometime feel like a roll of the dice than careful execution of a plan or build. It would have been really interesting to see more “deck builder” elements where the player can edit the deck to change differently or add variety to attacks. Or perhaps having different opponent decks to choose from.

Ultimately this game feels like a fantastic concept or first look at an idea. I highly recommend you give it a try (Its free with an option to tip the dev) and see how you like it. I look forward for a Deck ‘Em 2 or whatever comes next from this developer!
Dawgrit,
The complainers just don’t know how to play!
Lot of reviews saying that the cards don’t match up and the champ always puts out unfair cards towards the end of the match, etc etc blah blah. That’s the fun of the game, there is a lot of strategy to this game, for example when to sacrifice and takes hits in order to save cards for just the right time. Or when and when not to place bets. I only place a bet if I’ve lost 3 in a row. I think the goal of this game is more so to make money rather than have a stellar record. My record is 68 wins with 107 losses. Not exactly a great record but that’s a lot of wins contrasting the people saying that the game cheats when the going gets tough. I find that when I’m down and almost out in the latter rounds, I end up winning about as much if not more than I lose. And my bank roll is currently $17,342,200! With my top purse of $10,018,100. People who thinks the game has too much of an advantage when throwing out the cards, well…. sorry, they just aren’t very good at this game.
Art Rodriguez II,
This is Great
I rarely pre-order any games, let alone an app, and when I do I have big expectations. So when I saw that it downloaded I had no clue as for what to expect. I am pleased to say this game has huge potential. I love the art style, and how everything feels lived in. The animation of everything is really well done and I’m excited for future updates. So much room for levels, different fighters, more champs, maybe even a story. Multiplayer too would be possible. I love this game and wherever the developer’s go, I’ll be all in with them!

Although, I do have a bit of underwhelming feels as well. I mentioned potential because what the game gives now can be a little lack luster as there is not much to do yet, but play as three characters and fight against only one champ. Given I have only played for an hour, hopefully future updates will build on the world and give more variety. Some people may get bored after a few days, but I think the waiting game would be worth it as for the love that is behind this game!

Some final thoughts would be this game needs you to be patient. It may not give much now but it has heart and a lot love behind it and I’m sure this game will be so much more in the coming months. So if you want wait for an update or two and download it because I don’t want comments to rate it bad for being short. Do download it now and enjoy the simplicity and colorful game and be ready to see where the developers plan takes.

Thank you
9/10
452mars,
Amazing game but needs a little bit more “punch”
This game is amazing! I absolutely love the original mechanics of the game! And I know the game just came out so it doesn’t have a ton to it but here are some ideas.

1. Different characters to fight

maybe just random different characters that weren’t just the champ that you’d fight. or perhaps they would look different based on which level they are.

2. An interesting idea for rank and infinite mode

It would be pretty simple. You go on forever until you die. then there be a leaderboard showing how many rounds you lasted compared to other people.

3. New attacks

I like that they’re different attacks and I love the originality of the sucker. I think there should be a few more original attacks. Maybe an attack that randomly does a certain amount of damage. Or an attack that hits twice or hits two opponents. These could be really cool.

4. Boss fights

In these Bossfight you have to take out one enemy. The enemy will do as much damage as it’s number of health left. but it won’t kill itself when it attacks you. other cards may be dealt around it like different enemies, attacks, health, and more.

5. Story?

Maybe they could be a storyline. You play a bunch of different levels that increasingly get harder. This is also where you could put the Bossfights in.

So yeah I’m super excited to see where this game goes
emmie1243,
Love it! Dempsey probably would to!
The game is very simplistic in its gameplay features but I believe this is intentional and gives it a very fun arcade feel. I’ve loved boxing since 7th grade and am trying to compete after COVID, so when I was looking for an app to pass time during quarantine and I saw this in the pre-order section I became very excited. As it loaded up I was amazed with the fact it is completely free! (Thanks btw could have easily charged money with the production value and potential) another thing I enjoyed right from the start is the art style, it’s very fitting. As for gameplay not usually into solitaire type card games but I really enjoy this take and can’t wait for more additions. I know that this just came out and it’s free so no rush, but this isn’t a game I’d play for hours yet. It can get repetitive which is why I gave it 4 stars. Overall it’s fun, unique and has immense potential can’t wait for more!
J-T-72,
Decent but biased
This could be a much better game. The amount of strategy is rather limited due to the absolute randomness of the cards. The blocks do not match the punches thrown. The punches thrown back do not match the power number of the champ in many instances. There are a disproportionate amount of champ punches versus health and defense for you fighter. It would be more balanced if you could stack your block cards to build that up like you can health cards. The goal of playing cards equal to or less than the previous punch thrown by the champ makes no sense when you have a 10 block card and the last punch card you play is a 2 and then on the draw you have champ punch cards of double digits. You are placed at a major disadvantage. To be able to use your winnings to build the endurance of your fighter or to increase the effectiveness of block, punch and health cards would be one way to go. But to only be able to only use the money for betting just does not add to any excitement in the game.
Defcon106,
How disappointing
This game seemed like a cool idea at first, but the game is incredibly dull and boring after 20 minutes or so. The mechanics of the game require a ridiculous amount of luck to even come close to winning, which by the way I still haven’t done. I’ve played about 20 matches now and still haven’t won yet. Every time I get close it will deal me 3 or 4 champ cards so I have no choice but to take damage right at the end. It’s incredibly frustrating and irritating playing a game like this and not being able to use any kind of strategy. I was hoping for some powered up cards or some kind of deck building mechanic, but there is absolutely nothing outside of the 52 cards and 3 avatars. Honestly it feels like you’re playing Old Maid or crazy 8s half the time because you just don’t have any control over how the game plays out. It could deal the deck right at the beginning of the game and tell you if you won or lost 100% without you needing to play any cards. I’m uninstalling this now, I don’t suggest wasting your time with this.
