MadScience7,
Extremely poor app
I’m pretty sure this app isn’t actually done by the Denver Post. Many of the articles aren’t available on the app at all. Some of the articles show up, but only half of them, with a continue reading link at the end going to a bad web page. And their salespeople call me on an almost weekly basis trying to sell me a physical Sunday paper regardless of how many times I tell them to stop. (I think them murdering trees just to print out an entirely unnecessary paper is immoral and I will NEVER purchase it). I would like to support local journalists, but I don’t think any of the online money actually goes to them. The money goes to whoever (badly) programmed the app and the journalists only get money from the Sunday edition. Probably better to pay for Westword.
nonacolyte,
Useless
This is the worst newspaper or magazine app I have ever encountered. I have been a long term subscriber to the Denver Post and I have been forced to use this annoying app because the Denver Post has been unable to provide regular newspaper delivery in my town, Carbondale, CO.

Why can’t the Denver Post emulate the apps of the New York Times, the Washington Post, or other major newspapers?

It would take me more Time than I am willing to spend to describe all of the annoying, confusing and ridiculous barriers to reading the news on this app. It needs to be replaced ASAP.
Agearke,
Works Fine, Good News App
I downloaded this app about a week ago and decided to give it a shot even though there have been a lot of bad reviews. Since using it I haven't had any issues logging into my Denver Post account or reading articles in the app. The app works just how it's intended for me, no complaints with accessing articles or receiving push notifications.
hghghghgyhgh,
Highlighting news I don’t read, missing news I do
The app prioritizes sports stories which just aren’t interesting to me and misses or buries important news stories that are interesting to me. I used to get the DP newsletter but unsubscribed because the newsletter was filled with irrelevant news (ie, a lot of sports). Supposedly it uses an algorithm to find the right articles for you. But it completely gets it wrong for me. I like the Denver Post but the way it’s newsletter and app highlights only sports makes it totally useless for me.
Markerrttt,
Joyless “newspaper” reading experience
If I compare solid media apps like the Wall Street Journal, LA Times or even regional newspapers to the Denver Post’s app, they are light years better. Those apps give you the option to see the whole pages of the paper, ad’s and all, and flip through it page by page, which I love. Conversely, I can barely stand to read the Denver Post via it’s apps, because the layout is so miserable. Their website is also pretty hideous. How they stay in business is beyond me.

A Mess
Enjoy the content but the subscription model + app + the website are a complete mess. Multiple systems that barely talk to each other. Can’t login on the website with my info to verify a subscription but it recognizes my personal account on the website and knows that I have a subscription on the app? If you want anything done meaningfully you have to call in to unscramble the nonsense. The app content works fine but trying to anything on your account is a mess.
frustrated 060721,
So aggravating,
I just want to read an article that was on the front page of print edition about aclu and I can’t find it anywhere and I can’t find how to look at front page of print edition. Doing a search did not list the article. I’ve just had it with the Post’s horrible website/digital edition and apps. Worse than useless. I canceled my subscription for 6 months because of this. I’ve been back less than a week and I’m canceling again.
Shadow729,
Comedically Bad
This is app is almost comedically bad.

It sends me notifications for articles that I can’t find anywhere.

Half the time, it makes the text so large no could possibly read it and there’s no way to resize it.

It won’t stop showing me sports stories, especially baseball, at the top of the feed even though I could not care less about how awful the Rockies are.

Every other article is 5 line about someone being killed. There should be a dedicated section for that so I can read stories that aren’t just “a person died, more details to come” followed by no other details.

When I try to share an interesting article, it shares the title of the article with no hyperlink so no one can click on it.

Just totally unusable.
SonosShmomos,
DPost app is the worst ever
This app is SO BAD; couldn’t be worse. Two experiences this evening:

I’m looking right at the forced-delivery Sunday paper and trying to send a News section article to my son. I entered headline keywords into the app first. No result. Then I precisely copied the entire headline into the search. No result.

Tried to increase font size on my phone; the slider doesn’t work.

Nice job, Media News Group. First you hollow out the newsroom (but keep the sportswriters; no pandering there …). Then you charge an outrageous subscription price. You MAKE us take a paper paper on Sundays, I suppose to ‘prove to’ your hapless advertisers you have circulation. Your app is ridiculously bad. You SUUUUUCK. I’m gone. We all wish we could rate you ZERO
Thebikegang,
Why oh why does this app skip to the top of an article every time I: change apps and come back, my phone screen changes direction, I get a text or a call, or even an email!!

My god.

I like reading local news so I’ll continue to use this app but I really wish you would put more money into making a better product.
