Good basic functionality, but missing features Caldwell has - pictures, group size finder, etc

There are two kinds of Chrony owners - those that have shot their chronograph, and those that will someday. If I join the first group I'll get a different one

I was considering sending new DLX model back after wasting a couple of hours attempting to get it to work with current iphone and laptop OS versions. I bought Bluetooth Chronograph for the stats. Mostly failure. I got voice function to work on phone, but no stats. Then I tried my iPad with latest OS. It seemed to work. I can export data via email. The only thing left to test is backups. I hope Competition Electronics can get phone app working again. If iPad didn’t work I may have sent chrono back. Bluetooth needs to actually in work modern electronics in these modern times, not just lip service. I would work on fixing phone next. Remember there will be new OS’es across the board in Fall of 2022.

Works great for me. Setup was easy. I shoot outside in good weather so I have never experienced problems with reading shots as some indoor shooters might. Always runs fine using Bluetooth on my iPhone. I use it about once a week. It’s consistent and reliable.

Absolutely LOVE the new feature where I can attach a picture to the string. Now I can have my groups in digital format in the same place as my data. Thank you for listening to user feedback!! This app just rocks.

Not sure why this app has not received better ratings. I just got my ProChrono DLX bluetooth version (obviously) and put 8 .25 caliber pellets through it without a glitch. Great readout with large numbers on both my phone and my Macbook Pro. The app is easy to navigate and gives you all the info any serious shooter needs regarding projectile velocities (fps) and foot pounds of energy (fpe). Lots of good stuff to know when modifiying any firearm or air rifle.

This app is pretty good overall and paired with the DLX it’s a nice upgrade from the older model Digital.

A couple improvements would help the app:
- allow a choice to show ft-lb energy instead of power factor. Many users of this chrono are not competitive pistol shooters and don’t care about power factor, but displaying avg energy in the results page might be useful
- allow grouping shot strings by firearm or cartridge

I just got the new DLX model. It worked fine after I found the proper distance to be from the screens. I carried my iPad Pro so I could look at the data on a larger screen than my iPhone X. The app doesn’t work in landscape mode & I don’t have a case that lets me us the iPad in Portrait mode. That’s my only complaint so far.

I upgraded my iPhone to IOS10 on the day it was released, only to find that this app no longer worked. I contacted Competition Electronics on September 14. They had an update ready by the 16th, and it was delivered today, the 19th. The Digital Link app works exactly as advertised, and CE's customer support is stellar.

iOS 16 introduced two bugs. Export summary (pdf) of multiple strings crashed. Voice readings stopped working.

Both issues have been fixed. 5 stars again.

Very easy to use, fast setup and stable.

Love this app please continue to support it because it makes my chrono system so much better. I feel great about my investment.

I bought this chrono specifically for the app functionality. It worked fine last year with my iPhone 12 Pro Max but won’t connect to Bluetooth anymore on new phone. Get with the times and update this consistently or you will get left in the Stone Age.
