Requirements
- Minimum iOS 9.0
- DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS customers must register their Business account on DIRECTV's website, https://www.directv.com/register, to access the DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS Remote app for tablets.
In the “Enter your last name” field, enter entire business name exactly as it appears on your DIRECTV account including spaces and punctuation. The registered email address and password serve as credentials to sign into your DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS Remote App. Contact DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS Support Team at 888-388-4249 for email updates and password resets.
- Compatible DIRECTV HD Receivers must be broadband connected to the same local network as the iPad; requires a Wireless Router and DIRECTV Ethernet to Coax Adapter (DECA).
- App is compatible with iPad only; iPhone version is not available for business accounts.

It's been stripped down until its pointless.
The app is a remote control for DirecTV receivers. Its a stripped down version of the consumer app that allows set top boxes to be grouped for control. Unfortunately the remote control has been stripped down from the control in the consumer app by removing the DVR comtrols in the top segment that has backup play pause fwd rev and skip. The control is only useful for live TV.
Here's a hot tip - Businesses want to time shift live international events like EuroVision and FIFA football matches to suit North American schedules just like consumers.
Not sure why someone went to the trouble of intentionally making the app so limited, but that's the fact. Yeah, I get it that it's original software spec said "lets bartender tune groups of TVs to same channel" and some newly minted software engineers were taught that extra features means extra bugs. Didn't anyone teach them that customizing borrowed code features in a one-off app forks the code base, raises maintainence cost, and introduces bugs?
This app also strips out the app's content search capability and ability to stream content to the iPad.

This might be the worst app I’ve ever had. You change from a perfectly good one with all the bugs fixed and give us this one that has all, the same problems the other one had before you made us use this one.
And as if this app wasn’t horrible already in the last week it has crashed 5 times!! And it did it twice today. Ever since this company was merged with AT&T it is like they don’t even care about customers or customer service

Horrible business tool and the only option we have is this worthless app. We pay thousands of dollars a month for a business account and you can’t provide us with app that work so we don’t have to walk around to 12 tvs and change the channel.
We can’t wait till another company is able to provide the NFL ticket for businesses so we can switch

Horrible app dont get directv
If youre considering getting directv to manage your recievers... dont... this app is garbage and there is no tech support for it... best they will do for you is send someone to your shop in 3 or 4 days to help or you can try to figure it out on your own... its complete trash

Have to constantly logout and log back in. It doesn’t read all of the receivers all of the time. Crashes all the time.
