Description
This app contains an implementation of The Taxman riddle (by Dan Finkel, Founder of mathforlove.com), as well as my own mode The Booker where you can apply 'tax cuts'.
The rules for The Taxman are as follows:
1. You can take any number that has at least one of its factors on the table.
2. In response, Fate takes all factors of the number you just took that are still on the table.
3. If you can take no more numbers, Fate takes everything left on the table.
4. Your score is a sum of all numbers you took.
5. To win, you must score more than Fate. Scoring the same or less is a loss.
The rules for The Booker are basically the same, except rules #3 (new move kind) and #5 (win condition):
3.1.If you can take no more numbers from the table, but have numbers smaller than a minimal on the table, then you can use one of them as a 'tax cut' (once per number), reducing all numbers on the table by that number.
3.2. If you have no moves, Fate takes everything left on the table.
5. To win, you must score more than a 1.5-2.5x score of Fate (1.5-2.5x depends on number of cards and scoring option - see in-game rules).
When playing with 23 cards (Fate & Tarot riddle), cards with numbers 2, 6, and 10 (granting "breaking the curse", "true love", and "great fortune" correspondingly) will be highlighted.
