A lot has changed and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it.
Scrolling left and right to browse memes on the home page was fun, but it just wasn't typical. So I changed it to a vertical layout.
Memes on Popular are sorted by dates thanks to the vertical layout.
Uploader usernames appear on thumbnails under feeds with people you follow.
A little badge will appear on the bottom home screen for unseen notifications.
You can take your thumb now and swipe from left to right to open the side drawer to select feeds.
You can trim the start and end length of any videos you select in the app.
Share to Instagram was all messed up, now it resizes and uses the least possible amount of whitespace.
Gifs will auto play in camera roll as you go to select them in the photo picker.
Can now use the camera in the app to take photos/videos and make memes out of them without leaving the app.
The builders dubbed "Templates" accept both videos and images. It didn't make sense to have two separate tools for each format.
You can upload your memes to your account straight from the builder screens after you generate them.
I updated my rating for Lexington. It is no longer a 7 out of 10 place to live, work and lern. Now it's a 6 for unnamed reasons.

Came for the Meme Generator, Stayed for the Meme Community
I’ve had Pictophile since 2016 and it has been good not only as a meme creator but also as a community. Features that I like include the sub-menu to switch from recent, private, and popular posts being in the top left. It’s out of the way, but easy to access and easy to used. Pictophile also has many features to allow users to comment, like, dislike, subscribe, and block content and users, which will allows me to tailor my experience to what I like. Although, I haven’t had to block anybody yet. The last and most important feature in why I originally got the app has to do with its meme creation applications. It has a video stitched, gif to video and vice versa functionality, and meme formats programmed in which are also very easy to use. I’ve since bought the premium version, although not necessary to use this app, it does provide extra features for the community aspect of the app such as adding a prefix or changing the background color of your text in the comment section. The features can be earned over time, but I’m impatient. Overall, I recommend this app and I plan to stay! I hope this review can give you an idea of what to expect! And thank you to the wonderful person who made this app!

Best Meme App!
I was referred to this app by a friend, and I was not disappointed! (It’s worth every penny to upgrade to the pro version as well, by the way.) Not only does it offer a lot of different creative tools for making memes, but there is also this amazing community of all sorts of folks in there, honestly, I think it’s WAY better than the Facebook community! The admins are always there to help if you need it, and some of the people who aren’t admins, but have been in there awhile, are also very kind and helpful. I would DEFINITELY recommend this app to anyone looking to make some memes and some friends, just an awesome app all around!

Annoying Alerts I Couldn’t Stop
I’ve had this app forever and it WAS my go-to on the rare occasions I wanted to make a meme. For the record, I’m an old(ish) woman (late 50’s), so my life doesn’t revolve around my devices, my number of likes or re-Tweets, my karma, or how relevant my memes are. I never enable alerts or push notifications on ANY app- I’ll look at stuff when I choose to, not when someone updates their profile picture for the umpteenth time this week so that they can once again get validation that they’re ‘SO pretty 💞👍🎉💯🔝‼️💣🍭🔥🔥🔥🌹💋!!!’
But I digress. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, I started getting banner alerts about once every other day on my iPad from Pictophile, saying stupid things like, ‘It’s been a while since you’ve made a meme using Pictophile. You need to...’ I never really read any of them in their entirety since I was usually in the process of picking up and turning on the device and the message was gone before I had the chance. I’ve been in all sorts of control panels trying to put a stop to these alerts. Every time I thought I had it licked, a few days would go by, only for another to pop up. I’m tired of wasting my time trying to prevent this from happening so I simply deleted the app. Just now. And came to the App Store to leave this review.

Great App!
This is my first experience with a meme app. I asked around among people I knew who had them and this was hands down the most recommended app. I got it and within minutes I had created my first app! It wasn't the best I've made since but it was pretty dang good for a first shot. Much better than some of the ones I've seen from competing meme generators.
It's easy to use, it's really easy to figure out and I've made memes for friends who wanted certain looks but couldn't get them with their own meme creator.
This is the one you want! You can use the backgrounds provided or you can go online and use all those great royalty free photos out there for your background.
The different fonts and colors for text are great. You can really personalize and make your meme stand out in the crowded field of memes. Mine get retweeted all over Twitter.

The best meme creator in existence
This meme creator is awesome and I can send the memes I make to my besties and they always understand these memes! There’s a big selection on memes and how you can put whatever you want, this app is my life saver! My best friend said she gets annoyed on how many I send each day! I downloaded this about 2 days ago and already am obsessed with it. When I’m bored I’m like “Oh! Wait! This amazing app I’ll never get bored with!” And how you can change the in colors and outside! Good meme farm
I come to this place every so often for a temporary distraction of the horrors of the “real world”, sure the place seems to be oddly political, but every so often I find something with genuinely makes me laugh. However, this app is not without his problems, every time you download a meme and inescapable ad would play, this wouldn’t be a problem if it popped up to say once every three memes or so. However, they seem to appear after downloading a meme, every single time. Which brought down my overall opinion of the app. The ad frequency can often time be tedious and in some cases, frustrating. Alas, overall this app is worth download.

The only drawback to this app is that the online community attached to it is the most toxic I have ever come across. The admins actually seem to promote hate speech and racism, and those types of posts will, more often than not, receive the most amount of positive attention.
If you are a parent that monitors your child’s online interactions keep your kids off this app. The “rules” say the community is for members 18+, but it seems that at least 50% of the users are under 15 and it appears that no effort is made to enforce this particular rule.

Good app - 1 big suggestion to make it better
I really like this app so far. One thing that’s annoying is editing. If you choose a font or color to the text & don’t like it once it’s on the pic, you can’t just click back in the text box & pick a different font & color. You have to close the text box, start a new text & retype the whole thing. If you don’t like how the next font or color looks, you have to keep repeating. It would be so much easier & less time consuming if we could click back in instead of retyping the words over & over until you like how font & color look on your pic.

Uncaring Staff, Terrible Community
This app is borderline breaking Apple TOS. Go through the popular posts and scroll through comments. Transphobes, homophobes, racists, you name it, they got it. They only seem to care if someone comments a slur, which they hardly even enforce anyways. Despite “banning” politics posts, you’ll have screenshots of downright fake and unfunny articles on topics like gun control or the LGBT community with extremely right leaning views in the popular section. There was once a post where it was a picture of a map of Africa with extremely racist caricatures placed over each region where the skin tones were darker like it was some minstrel show humor, and despite multiple people reporting it, the staff did nothing. Steer clear unless it sounds appealing to be on an inferior version of Reddit with a bunch of internet incels.

I have been on this app for many years and I have truly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, of late the Administrators of this app have been taking it into their own hands to “private” any post they don’t find funny to them. Unfortunately, because humor is subjective, they disagree with the vast majority of the app on what is funny, and private posts that otherwise might have made it to the popular page. The vast majority of these posts are made by active users, and much of it is original content they put thought and effort into. It’s unfair, and many old friends, acquaintances, and other popular and old users are leaving until the condition of the app changes. I shall replace my 1 star review with a 5 star if the app returns to it’s former state, and the community decides what is funny or not.
