Version history

3.3.0.0

Bug fixes for pinch-to-zoom, and other small fixes.
3.2.4.0

• New feature, based on user feedback: Collections! Now you can create custom groupings of your library titles. For example, you could make a "Friday Night Game" Collection that contains all of the books needed for the game you're running on Friday nights. This is synced across your devices, so if you create a Collection on your computer and add some titles to it, that will be reflected on your tablet too (after a refresh).
• Internationalization: Now you can change which language you want the app to be displayed in, via the Settings menu.
• When in filtered view, "Select all" now only selects items shown, not all items in library.
• Various small bugfixes (e.g. no longer treats local 0-byte files incorrectly).

StopSpamming,
Needs work
Collections does not work. I try to make a new collection a bunch of times and the app always has a pop up “Error(s): Failed to add a new collection: Customers can create new productLists.” Well that was useful information. Now I’m looking at my 158 DriveThruRPG products with very little in the way of organization. Could you please fix making collections?
Thorin Messer,
Not for me
The app does not use the Files app, making it basically useless to me. I already have a pdf viewer I'm perfectly happy with, so if this downloaded to Files it would be great. As it is, I have to download a file in this app, then open the downloaded PDF in this app, and then share it to my pdf reader. This is fine for one or two files...but not an improvement over just downloading from the website.

The UI is not great and doesn't seem to use built-in iPadOS features like the scrollbar, making it look and feel alien.
Modern Film Fan,
Useful but needs improvements
This is a useful app on my iPad but I can’t find a way to customize the download folder. I also find the overall UI to not be as intuitive as other iPad apps. Maybe it should follow Apple’s UI standards?

Better
Liking the newer versions. Getting much better. (Still wanna phone version!)
LeSneeze,
If you like scrolling…
No horizontal page swipe controls. I hate vertical scrolling so this app doesn’t work for me. If you don’t mind it’s nice.
Anahata108,
Needs to support the new Files app.
This app does what it says it does: it syncs your DriveThruRPG library. And that's really about it. It doesn't provide a way to open the downloaded files in your choice of PDF reader, it doesn't provide a way to use any of the modern tools for file management that debuted in iOS 11. It uses the built in minimal PDF viewer tools, providing a poor user experience and not allowing any kind of bookmarking, annotations, or other rich interaction available in a dedicated PDF viewing application.

As such, users are still better served by downloading their documents directly from the site. I have a specific PDF reader that I read all my PDFs in, which supports bookmarks, annotations, editing, etc., and integrates with my iCloud Drive so I can store files in one place and read them on my iPad and my Mac. The DriveThruRPG app doesn't support any of this.

This is a 5 star app if judged solely by what the app sets out to do, but a 1 star app if judged by how I want to use it. The files we get from DriveThruRPG are already DRM-free; please let us do reasonable, modern things with them in your app!
Andisnfi,
Nice app
Thanks for this app. It was really needed. However, it seems that it can not happen zip files.
wSwans,
Downloads random things, not well built
This is the most frustrating app. I just want to select and download PDFs that I’ve bought. Instead it downloads what I want PLUS some random items from my library. Every time I try to download one thing, I get a whole bunch.

On top of that, it doesn’t give any progress indicators for downloading. Which I guess just adds to the excitement. Every so often, a new random item will appear.

On top of that, it’s not designed for portrait mode. You have to scroll horizontally all the time.
Shibbydang,
Does in fact send to other apps
I am writing this to respond to another reviewer who is unhappy that this app does not allow one to open the downloaded files in other apps. I am writing this in August of 2009, and it does - it easily “sends” the file to my favorite pdf reader. I wanted to clarify this.
Enjoy!
Leftahead,
Good lord this is terrible.
An app that manages to make the OBS web sites look like slick marvels of modern technology.

Does not work at all as far as I can tell. Entered my DTRPG password and ‘logged in’ to a library with a single title I had deleted earlier and none of anything else.

Deleting it now and reminding myself why I make every attempt to avoid OBS unless it’s the only option available.
