EBO - Smart Robot Hack 1.5.8 + Redeem Codes

The EBO Air is a (mostly) well-made gadget, but the app is buggy, freeze- and crash-prone, and needs fine-tuning. Control of the bot’s movement is jerky, even with practice. The app control items are often named strangely, leaving the user to figure out what they do. (The dev could use some help from a native English speaker.) As to the actual device, the camera seems to lack a white balance function, as the image is either purple, pink or correct depending on the light (natural, LED, incandescent, etc.). I’ve contacted the dev but no response yet. Overall EBO is worth it for the price, and I’m hoping for improvements in the software.

So like everyone else here, i was sold by the kickstarted campaign and was very disappointed with the end product. The build and feel of the robot are great but the functionality and features are severely lacking. The app itself is very bland, it contains three pages, one of “news” which is always empty, one which tells you the app version you are on and the third page is for the ebo control. Now when ai first got my ebo, right of the bat I noticed how glitchy and laggy the controls were, if you are not using it on hardwood floors and not in the same room, the glitch will make it very hard to control, also I noticed that even though it is advertised as always landing on its feet, i have mine constantly fall in positions and stay that way, never “landing back on its feet” and if I am away I have to hope my cat picks Ebo back up. As everyone has talked about there is no automatic play, it does not go back to the charge station, no scheduling. The laser pointer is weird for me because the first day I got it, I had the ability to use it but after The new build that feature was removed. If you are on the fence or were thinking about getting the Ebo, wait, don’t do it. Let us suffer through these trials and errors, let us be the guinea pigs, and hopefully the creators can release more patches and updates so we can all change these low ratings to raving reviews, because we all want to love this invention, but as of now there is not much to rave about.

We received Ebo several days ago, and have the latest update on the App Store. It acts nothing like the video does that convinced us to purchase this item. The lag time is incredibly slow with the video, it does not return to its base like it is advertised as, and won’t even go up over 1/8 inch of carpet. I feel like you’re released this product way before it was fully developed, and although we got a discount on the price, this is nothing like it was advertised.
I would like to know how you would like to rectify this issue? Something like this should have been given to people to beta-test for a while before you sold it. I paid a lot of money for this item and was hoping that I would be able to interact with my cats just like what is shown on the video on your website.
With the newest update, the Ebo is even worse! The control screen won’t open up at all.
I cannot fathom why you shipped this product out knowing that there were more than just a few “glitches”!!

Ebo Developers: I will give you a couple of months to fix this product so it more or less resembles the functionality of what you advertised.
If not, I will return it to you for a refund. One of my cats really wants to play with it, but it’s completely useless as it is now!

I’m not Happy with this App, and the developers, or creators of this app. The product is Amazing. A few problems I have with the app and it’s creative team is the lack of responses to the feedback. I wish that the Ebo along with the app would inform the owner that it has started its security sweep threw out the house. Also I don’t understand why Ebo has no recording of its sweep threw out the time of being off the charger. I find it concerning that I’m not aware of Ebo moving threw-out. I don’t understand why we as the owner of the product do not have more control of what is accruing when not aware or not on the app during. I hope this gets read and or corrected to where the owner/users have more awareness/control. I would hate for Ebo to be more of a problem then a companion to my home.

When I saw this on Kickstarter and saw the video it looked like a great toy for my cats. I was really looking for a way to get them to exercise more, and was thinking this could be activated and used even when I wasn’t home. Since receiving my Ebo a couple days ago, the reality has fallen way short of expectations. As others have mentioned there is no way to program it to run on its own. And apparently you can’t use it remotely either. Tried that at work today and nothing happened. In addition, the app controls are buggy. I did the recent firmware update but it seems to have made it worse. Trying to steer the thing is an adventure all in itself. I’m hoping future app and software updates will make a lot of improvements, but so far I’m having buyers remorse.

So this robot is the cutest little thing. It’s very fun to play with and has so much potential. My only issue is that the live stream does not work when I’m away from home. This defeats the whole purpose of having the robot to check on my cats whenever I’m not home. It works great whenever I’m at home connected to the same wifi. Just doesn’t work whenever I’m away from home. I guess I’ll be returning this camera since I can’t get it to work. I was so hopeful about this.

1 day of have Ebo and sadly disappointed. We specifically purchased for the ability to schedule autonomous play and that critical, much touted feature, is no where to be found. Also, not disclosed, the app and robot can only be paired to one device. It asked me to do factory reset in order to pair to another device. Not a great feature if your kids want to play with it while you are working on your phone. The rolling can only hand hard floor. I have a thin area rug, Ebo gets stuck every time but not enough of a barrier to make it avoid, unlike in video where it easily goes over rugs to hard wood. Overall feel I part with an enormous amount of money for a not very useful rolling laser pointer.

App works fine, I don’t know if this is the first ingigogo or Kickstarter program people have bought into, but Ebo is faaaaar ahead of most, I’ve been involved in 30-40, some take years to get to finished product, and a good percentage fail in the end. You’re investing in a dream, in a small scale prototype, experimental etc. my cats love it, I can check on my house, play and tire them out and I am confident with their posted updates that all the future features are on their way. People need to get a grip.

I just setup EBO and found it to be easy to setup and navigate around the house. works well on hard floors not so much on carpeting. and transferring from hard to carpet? nope. but it never gets stuck and moves around the house on its on well. even remotely. i came home after to 3 hours and it was entertaining our 2 dogs. no laser point on my ebo se and i can’t address that. i think the bug fixes are working well

Unlike older reviews I found set up worked well and all features work as advertised. Image quality is good and no connectivity issues at home or away. It does find its charging dock but can get hung up on any cords on the floor. Works well on hardwood floors. My cats only have a mild interest in it. Have not used it for security. Unless you are monitoring the amount of cat litter accumulated on your hardwood, it’s use for security seems limited.
