- AI is unable to continue after all of its sectors have been taken
- Main Action Bar sometimes disappears after using the bottom left panel to see other players’ stats

- It is possible to influence one sector, then another adjacent only to the first on, and then remove the influence from the first one, leaving the other one still influenced
- Game crashes after influencing sectors adjacent to the sectors with player’s ships in it and not adjacent to other sectors controlled by this player
- Initiative on Ancient Cruisers should be 2, instead of 1
- Wrong number of techs available for research, first three columns should be 5 techs each, next two 4 techs each, last three 3 tech each

- Wrong Reputation Tile count
- Orion Dreadnought blueprint should have 3 power, not 2

Hightray,
Quality has gone down
I have had this game for a few years and I decided to fire it back up after a year or so has gone by. Since it was so long I started the tutorial. When it came for the first ai player to go it got stuck on thinking and never proceeded. I could touch other ui elements and they worked but it was stuck thinking. I touched the menu button and the music changed but it was still on the tutorial screen thinking.
Restarted the app and tried to resume but now the interface shows all resources at 32 and it is locked up.
So sad, I do not want to try getting into a game because I don’t want it to lock up and this is not a quick 10 minute game.
I hope the developers read this. I hope they fix it but to see the rating go down to a 2.6 at the time of this writing it does not appear they are taking it serious enough. There seems to be a lot of complaints.
Seems like all they did was update this to note that is the first edition version. Since the 2nd edition is out perhaps they don’t care anymore. But then the update before that was 4 years ago.

Abandoned? I guess buyer beware.
LetsGetTrivial,
Used to be almost perfect
UPDATE (4 stars to 2 stars):
-- Latest updates fix some async issues, but have made the game sluggish and crashy. Wife and I could not finish our game.

A great adaptation of a massive board game to iOS, with a few quibbles:
-- Async works, but it is difficult/impossible to tell what the other players did between turns.
-- Chat does not persist between sessions.
-- Lack of color blind options. Not a problem for me, though sometimes the pink and orange look very close to each other.
-- Space battles require too many clicks.
-- Research discounts are not clear (even after playing through the tutorial). This discount is already computed, which is a good thing. So I don't understand why the research icons show little discount markers above them.
-- The minus signs for Advanced Robotics and Quantum Grid were confusing. In the board game these were plus signed because you gain influence tokens.

That may seem like a long list, but they are really minor things. Very much looking forward to the expansion!!!
kisertn,
Bugs
I want to like it. But I have played a handful of times and the same thing keeps happening. The game appears to stop functioning and I am presented with an endless displays of the PASS button (even thugh no AI competitors appear to move in the interim). The only way I have found to continue is to exit tp the main menu and then select "Resume". But soon again it resumes this behavior. Basically a dead app for me now. Which is a REAL shame because if this worked it would be one of my faorite apps.
chalceKR,
A masterpiece 4x board game
I'm so happy to enjoy this board game on IOS.
This is the surely one of the best 4x board game as well as the best ported IOS game yet the game system is difficult and not intuitive for newbies.
As other revews already mentioned, it's getting quite often frozen not like previous version. (even during tutorial mode! Definitely update is required to fix them)
But if you are real board gamer, you'll agree the game is too good to be underrated due to the bugs.
Spectre_81,
The worst version of an excellent game
This app is built with the original rules of the game, which had some balance issues. Notably, the missiles don’t require power, so loading them up on a dreadnaught with some computers is unstoppable. It also doesn’t implement some notable improvements from the game’s expansions, such as variable turn order. For some reason, the game also considers moving through an allied species’ unoccupied territory as an aggressive action and gives you the traitor penalty.
Hopefully, the publisher will upgrade the app and enable content from the expansions some day. The actual board game is excellent in its current iteration.
Damage333,
I love The Boardgame and want to love this, but game breaking bugs
The boardgame is my favorite boardgame. I used to love this app and really want to love it now. But... there are tons of game breaking bugs that flat out prevent you from playing it. I wish the dev would address them. I understand there is no money to be made in supporting a game down the line, but, they could release expansions as DLC. Unfortunately this is neglectware 😢. If the dev comes back and fixes it, I would gladly revise my rating. I currently can not launch a single player game at all. I get to the race selection screen but it will not allow me to select my race. I tried removing and reinstalling the app to no avail.
Anon-o-potomus,
Hopeful... disappointed.
I saw that this app had an update 2 months ago and a positive review a month ago, so I gave it a try. The tutorial glitched out so hard that I couldn't use the save file, but I know how to play the game, so I figured I could muddle through the interface. My first game vs a few AI had me unable to select planets to colonize after my Advanced Economy research, the map scroll and zoom were frustrating at best, and the turn order never changed based on pass order. Basically unplayable. Hopefully Apple approves my refund.
jreeseue,
Used to be great
Like most of the others reviews I'm having the same experience of seeing a serious downfall in the last release. As it stands right now I'm unable to play any online games because I can't connect my Game Center account. If this is s board game you really like I would keep your eye on the app for when (hopefully) they fix these issues because this really is an impressive implementation.
mdwittenberg,
Game ending crashes
The app is a beautiful, streamlined simulation of Eclipse. Great interface, nice tutorial, mixed AI and pass-and-play options, online capabilities...

...But the app has thwarted the last two games I tried to play. The app glitches out and prevents me from playing further.

As nice as many of the aspects of this app are, unfortunately I cannot actually finish a game in this version.
Windcrier,
Used to be good. Now, it’s useless.
I used to enjoy this game on iOS, but it had been a couple of years since I’d last tried to play it. Now it just freezes, as other reviewers have said. And what a disappointment it was to find this out. I guess it’s time for the delete button on this one, but I will miss it.
