Description

Eddy animates through your twitter feed, one tweet at a time in a fullscreen display. That means you can read the latest tweets while keeping your hands free for cooking or coding or eating nachos while you watch the game.

The default view is your home timeline (people you follow), but you can also view #hashtags and searches.

“One Point One” or the “Portrait iPhone” release

Welcome Trickle fans! In honor of a few of you finding Eddy, portrait mode is now supported for iPhone, so get out your docks! Thanks to @toddkirby for suggesting this get built sooner rather than later and to @thrsn (creator of Trickle) for spreading the word.

Also, Eddy will now display advertisements occasionally (on iPad only, to start). The ads are from Apple’s iAd network, because lots of mobile ads are ugly and would detract from the otherwise clean experience, but iAds look terrific.

(If you missed the 1.0 notes, Eddy now supports saved and recent searches. And crashes way less often.)

“One Point Oh” or the “Everything Works (Better) Now” release

This fixes two major issues. No more crashing on #über interesting hashtags or forgetting to let you know when you need to re-enter your twitter password in iOS settings (thanks @lordscarlet!). Also, Eddy remembers what you were last watching (even if it has been a while).

In celebration of being able to follow public #hashtags without crashing whenever you see tweets in 中文 (#很好!), You can now watch searches you’ve saved on Twitter or recent searches from Eddy. You can also clear recent searches in case you don’t want your friends to know about your #puppy (or #jets) obsession.

And finally (there’s more?!), you can now let people know what you’re watching by tapping the share icon in the top of the main menu. Sharing is caring, especially if you’re sharing #felfies*.

The most urgent addition is an error message if your Twitter password didn't travel with you to iOS7 (it was an annoying bug). Also, you can now save links for later using Pocket.
0.9
2013-10-07
0.9 brings EDDY to your iPhone or iPod touch! This makes EDDY the perfect little companion for keeping up with Twitter while you're doing other things. You can follow your friends' posted photos or keep up with a breaking news event all without touching the screen (unless you want to, of course). Enjoy!

- Inline Photo Display
- iOS7 Crash Fixes and UI Support

I'm super excited about this release of Eddy. Eddy now will display photos in tweets (both attached photos and links to Instagram). With this introduction, Eddy is starting to look like the App I envisioned when development began a few months ago

Thank you for downloading Eddy and supporting independent App design and development. If you can, please take the time to leave a review for this version.

WalkSteady,
Great App
This nice looking app allows you to set up your iPad while you work and it automatically scrolls through your Twitter feed and even zooms in on pictures. You can click on links in the tweets. Very usable. Makes Twitter a banner scroll for your interests that you can place anywhere in site and enjoy. I would like ongoing support. Last update in 2014. Hopefully developer will maintain it.
Drgreenbacks,
So Happy Eddy was updated!!!
This is the BEST twitter slideshow app in the universe. I scroll it on a 55 inch TV in my office all day. It’s really cool. Now I’m guaranteed to never miss a thing. Other apps don’t come close to Eddy. Does exactly what I want. Gives each Tweet the screen time it deserves while blowing up each and every photos.
Typically the stadium,
Nice
This app is pretty handy for keeping any eye on your Twitter feed while you’re focusing on something else. One feature that would make it even better would be a way to slow it down for longer tweets. Sometimes it goes to the next tweet before I can finish reading the current one.
Ojh624,
Love this app
I love this app and have been disappointed it wasn't working in the current iOS. The only problem I have is that with the twitter character limit increased to 288, some tweets can’t be read in the time allowed. Will the developer add speed control?
runRajRun,
Smart Idea!
Absolutely love this app. Thank you for making it work with iOS11.
sminkin,
Very useful, but...
Often I find some tweets are too wordy to read in their entirety before the next tweet appears. I know I can drag back any tweet to finish reading it, but being able to adjust the standard screen time allotted to each tweet would make things more enjoyable. Thanks for a great app.
TheHalfAce,
I loved this app. I hope it comes back.
If not.. Oh well. Thanks!
Spinningpls8,
Interesting potential
I like the clean look of the app. I think I would enjoy using it while watching a football game and seeing reactions to the game. A few ideas:
- auto refresh the timeline so new tweets keep coming in
- increase the time tweets are on screen, they disappear too quickly to read sometimes
- offer a pause button
- hash tag discovery would be nice but a list of my recently used ones would be helpful enough
trumwr,
No iOS 11 Support?
Love the app but now it won’t work. Please update it so it doesn’t need the now defunct Twitter credentials integration from iOS.
hu_man01,
Almost Perfect
Eddy has been a good Trickle replacement but I wish there were a way to customize the size of the images when they zoom in. On both iPhone 5 and iPad mini the pictures zoom in so close that you can't really see anything.
