Cool and interesting but lacking and needs a weapon upgrade system
The game is pretty interesting. The story is fun and the dialogue between characters is really well written.
It kinda starts faltering when it comes to the gameplay. They describe it as simple, and that is the biggest problem.
At the start, its pretty fun for a little bit, but then you start to see that every “dungeon” is the same two level structure, just with a different intelligible layout each time. You'll fight new monsters that can do different things and they also drop stuff, but you dont do anything with those drops other than to make furniture or to give to the towns residents.
Theres also no weapon progression or weapon system. You only get stronger through leveling your character up.
It would have been amazing to go through these dungeons and use the stuff you collect to upgrade your weapon, maybe get you armor, and other stuff on top of the furniture system.
Without that cohesion between a weapon system and the “dungeons” spoils, the gameplay starts to get dry as you level up simply and play levels that dont offer much difference from the last.
I do think everything else is great for this game though, and I think if they just added a weapon system or something to make Chabo stronger aside from the leveling, the game would have been even better. Even without more varied levels.
Story is good though, the dialogue is great, characters are cool (redcaps look awesome) and I just like the vibe of this game. Hoping they make something in a similar style.
