EVERYTHING! By everything, we mean EVERYTHING! We have literally taken the previous app, shredded it, shredded it again, thrown it in the recycling (go us) and started all over again! You were all very vocal about the bits you didn’t like in the old Evisense app **cough** camera roll access **cough** and we can only thank you for taking time to tell us.
So, what does the new app bring I hear you ask? Well, to start off with, as soon as you open the app you are going to be asked to set a PIN! BOOM! No more typing email and passwords, you can type your 4-digit pin and get cracking. “What about if we share a device?” I hear you screaming! Well, you can set PINs by user and swap between users. That’s right, you can use this even if you only have one iPad in the school.
Next, we know you are going to want to take a bunch of photos and videos very quickly and in the moment. Go ahead and tap that big camera icon at the bottom in the middle and get snapping in our New Quick Camera mode. All those videos, photos and audio files will get uploaded in the background and you can deal with them later via the untagged post section in the app and on the website. All marvellous stuff really.
What else have we managed to get in here for you? Well now you can add and view those Additional Aspects (at last!), you can edit posts, trim videos and last but certainly not least, once you have set a PIN, you can log in even if the device is not on the internet, so you can use the Quick Camera mode, grab all you photos and videos and then have them upload when you get internet again!
All of these changes are sandwiched between a fresh new interface which looks less like a Year 4 Computing project and backend that does things just that bit faster. What it means for you is you can do more with your Evisense much, much faster! You are going to want to show it off to your parents (not your parents obviously, the parents of the students). And don’t forget, if you are brave enough, you can even get parents to comment and share their own evidence!
