The Explore Louisiana State Parks app allows users to experience a State Park or Historic Site in a unique, state-of-the-art format. Once the app is downloaded, Wi-Fi required, the user will wander the park or use from the comfort of home, and access information at a series of significant sites. Each station is clearly identifiable on your screen and provides additional fun, interesting, and educational facts about the specific location or theme you are immersed in. The user can view historic models of landscapes, holograms, reconstructed structures, and a number of additional capabilities that provide a virtual and augmented reality based experience to heighten the user’s enjoyment of the Louisiana State Park or Historic Site. Each Park and Historic site will have a unique chapter, accessible via the Explore Louisiana State Parks app that will provide the user with an immersive experience exclusive to each site. Poverty Point World Heritage Site, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the first chapter allowing visitors a visual and interactive experience unveiling the incredible history and legacy, with more Parks and Historic Sites to follow.
