It's been a while! Has much happened whilst we've been gone? 

This is a ground up rewrite. We've spent a huge amount of time dedicated to really improving the whole experience of Expodition. We've been happy with the previous 5 or so versions of the app, and its served a lot of you well, but it was time for a refresh. A total refresh. 

Say hello to a completely brand new version. That means you've lost a couple of features (for now) whilst we continue adding them back, but the performance will have improved. What's more, the app size has reduced by over 50%, freeing up more space on your device. We've also taken your privacy seriously and removed all third-party tracking frameworks. This means we'll rely on you to get in touch with us about feedback through other channels.

What can you find then?
- Stories: A new, novel way of discovering episodes through a curated selection of podcasts.
- Better interactions: Force touch on pretty much everything and there's an action available.
- Hide irrelevance: seeing feeds that are defunct, out-dated or no longer maintained? Removed them. Never see them again!
- Change region: Bored of seeing podcasts only in Canada? Change your region to Great Britain and find some British content.
- Episode Search: Scratching your head to remember which episode your favourite guest was on? Search for it!
- Episode Filter: Filter by old, new and downloaded.
- iCloud and Local: Everything is local but backed up to the cloud, that way you can pick up where you left off, no matter what.

Fixed a crash when trying to add an episode to a playlist.
You can now get push notifications when a podcast publishes a new episode. All you need to do is hit the bell!
Fixed a bug where the navigation bar was white when tapping "Similar" episodes.
Fixed a bug where all episodes would refresh when returning from a detail view or search. You can now pull to refresh to get your latest subscriptions, or update them.

Clearer Settings:
- See how much much memory is being used by downloads
- Choose to download your queued podcasts
- Choose to download only on WiFi

Other:
-iCloud Syncing! Your subscriptions and playlists are now synced to iCloud, so you can pick up on another device.
- Made For You improvements - we spotted a bug where this wasn't showing, so we've fixed that and you'll get better podcast recommendations.
- Episodes now indicate how far you are through a podcast episode.
- Episode length is now displayed on the player, so you can see time elapsed as well as duration - thanks u/inomark!
- Fixed the issue where occasionally a podcast would display "Sorry something has gone wrong".
- Speed Boost improvements, so it's a little less jarring. It also now shows you how much time you've saved.

Introducing Dark Mode! A whole new design for dark mode users.
Playlists: create and save your own, personalised list of podcasts to listen to. When finished, just swipe to delete!
Fixed a crash that was happening for some users on start up. Apologies.

iOS 13 bug fixes and performance updates.
Added categories for quicker search of podcasts.

BUG FIX: Fixed a bug where backgrounding the app would pause playback. We know - this is a pretty crucial aspect. We can only apologise profusely.

BUG FIX: Fixed a bug where playing your recently played podcasts didn't pick up where you left off.

* Made it clearer when a podcast is buffering by adding a "Buffering" label.

SPEED BOOST!
- Save valuable listening time by cutting silences from your podcasts. Just hit the Speed Boost button in the player view.

RECOMMENDATIONS!
- We're making it clearer and easier for you to get recommendations. Like a podcast? Tell us by hitting the clap han. We'll then match you with other podcasts. Really interested? We're using collaborative filtering to find similar content - yes, this is algorithmically driven, but it's based on other users!

PLAYBACK IMPROVEMENTS!
- We've now made playback quicker than ever before. If you're really interested, we're now using raw PCM data to adaptively buffer audio, essentially meaning we only play the audio data that's available to us. It saves you CPU and Data usage and means we can do some cool stuff in the future...

Performance improvements:
- We've made improvements to image loading and caching
- Improvements to the general player architecture.
- Fixed a crash when trying to play a sample in the recommendation game

Fixed a crash that occurred when trying to play a downloaded podcast.

- Share and deep-link: You can now share your podcast with anyone. A unique link will allow them to open the app and play right there.
- See how many episodes have been uploaded since you last played a subscription.
- See when a podcast last uploaded an episode in your library.
- Improvements to search.
- Improvements to "Similar" podcasts.
- Bug fixes.

Introducing Vox Populi:

Weekly hand-picked and curated blogs where you'll get five culturally significant, thematically oriented podcasts. No algorithms, no sponsorships. Just a section of the app devoted to sharing podcasts we and the community love. It's a whole new listening experience.

We've also redesigned the episodes list and the 'Match Maker' making it clearer when to finish the experience.

Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug where you can't search consecutively
- Fixed a bug where the control centre play pause button wouldn't work.
- Fixed a bug where the control centre wasn't updating with queued podcasts.
- Fixed a bug where scrolling to the top would make the header too large.

We've been gone for a while ironing out bugs and beetles. Hopefully they're mostly quashed! So here you go: bug fixes and performance improvements. Oh, and a newer, better name!

- More Like This: Helping you discover new content, just tap the button in the episodes list and you'll be able to find more content like the show you're listening to.
- Pod Castr Match Maker! Pod Castr's proprietary game lets you discover new content. Swipe left or right, tell us what you like, and we'll find you new podcasts to listen and subscribe to, with pure ease!

- Introducing "Clip Share"! Generate a shareable video for social media! Tap the share button and generate a 30 second video clip to save or share on social media.

- Queue up! Queue any number of podcasts you want to play, just swipe the episode and hit queue, and this will automagically be downloaded (for quick playback) and added to your queue.

- Clearer show notes! We noticed lots of notes were getting cut off, but now by swiping on the episode you can view more detailed show notes!
