Description
OVERVIEW:
Exprestive is a facial-recognition party game. To play, hold the iPhone/iPod so that the camera can capture facial expressions in real-time.
Each level plays a portion of a song just over a minute long. During that time, the player earns as many points as possible before the song completes. When progressing through individual difficulty levels, the expression requests flow past the Request Bar at faster initial rates and accelerate during gameplay to build tension. Additionally, the levels flash background patterns and warped Photo Gallery images to distract the player's concentration.
TECHNICAL:
Facial-recognition uses considerable computing power, so it is recommended to play on a recent iOS device for the best play experience.
Facial expressions are determined by a combination of ratios for each landmark (i.e. eyes, lips. eye brows, etc.). These ratios are best determined in a well-lit area. For most expressions, it is best to face directly toward the camera - though a few expressions require tilting or rotating the head, as well. There is a practice mode to learn all the expressions.
HEALTH NOTES:
Exprestive displays flashing lights and patterns during game play. If you are prone to epilepsy under such conditions, consult your healthcare professional before attempting gameplay. Exprestive does have a “Reduced Motion” mode that switches gameplay to use static backgrounds. It is advisable to either use this mode or discontinue play if you experience dizziness, motion-sickness, or nausea.
