Description

When you look at a bright screen for long time your eyes get dry and it even leads to redness. Eyecare 20 20 20 is here to look after your eyes.

Do you spend good amount of time in front of a screen? If you answered yes to that question, this app is the solution to that problem.

Based on the popular 20-20-20 rule this app allows you to take care of your eyes.

To help you deal with this problem, the 20-20-20 rule suggests that after every 20 minutes, the computer user should take a break for at least 20 seconds and look at objects that are 20 feet away.

Eyecare 20 20 20 App is simple to use. Whenever you are going to start working on a computer, open the app and click Start. That's it. You can now close the app and it will keep sending you a notification every 20 minutes. Whenever you get that notification look away from your computer for about 20 seconds.

When you want the notifications to stop, just open the app and click stop. There is no setting or any complex steps to learn.

Almost Awesome
(1) Update 2.5 supposedly added a vibrate event at end of 20 seconds of looking away. This doesn’t seem to be working. Could this be fixed, and could an alert tone play as well? Ideally, I’d love to see 2 switches on the settings pane for the end of the 20 seconds: a switch for vibrate and a switch for alert tone. That way, a user could select vibrate, or alert sound, or both, or none. For all alerts: it would be really neat if we could choose the sound that plays.

(2) Update 2.6 says “made it easier for you to give feedback”. I thought this meant a way to give feedback from within the app - if so, I couldn’t find it. The only way to give feedback seems to be by writing this review.

Other than that this app is super helpful and I truly appreciate what you’ve done!!! 😀

Great tool to do my physical therapy exercises
This app was purchased for and is helping me stay task with an uncomfortable excercise i need to do throughout the day. I wish I could set the reminder for 15 minutes but it looks like 20 minutes is the shortest.

Hey while I’m at it, there is a need for an app that works on Apple Watches that helps you spell by displaying the words on the watch as you speak them. Apple Notes does this but times out and that does not help you when you are up front during a meeting and having to write notes on a white board. Pretty simple whole that needs a solution.

Bad execution of good idea
It’s hard to complain about free apps, but this app is pretty much useless. It’s basically just a 20-minute timer that resets itself. Only fractionally better than setting the timer on the clock app. So, it still runs even if you’re not using your phone. Which also means that it might tell you to take a break even if you’ve only been using your phone for two minutes. And, it’s constantly telling you to take a break even if your phone is lying on the table. For something like this to be useful, it should only run the timer when the phone is in your hands. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, it doesn’t tell you when the 20 second break is up. And, you either have to manually start the app or set it to run during certain hours. There should be an option for it to run all the time (but, again, only if it were to run only when the phone was actually being used). Great idea, but pretty useless in reality.
Pro Nugget,
About this app
If your thinking to get this app for any reason, go ahead. It’s a great app. There are flaws though. I got the app and it was working perfectly, no ads, no bugs, it was great. Nothing is too wrong with it, but I really wish I could change how long I look 20 feet away. I believe 20 seconds is too short and I would want to change it too 40. Idk if I’m just dumb and you can already do this, but I looked around the app and couldn’t find it. I did see that you can pay to adjust the 20 minutes, but no how many seconds. That’s pretty much it, other than that, get the app!
daddelonglegs,
I was getting daily headaches until I used this app
I do all of my work on screens, and after work, I am looking at screens. Around 3pm-4pm I would get headaches, everyday. I started using this app to look away for 20 seconds every 20 mins. Since this, no headaches! Very grateful and highly recommended. Why not 5 stars? The app goes off when I’m not at work and I can’t schedule it to be only M-F. To remedy this, I mute the app on the weekend.

Highly recommend
I hope Apple buys you up and puts this in as a feature like the Stand Goal on the watch. I recently had to get glasses because one of my eyes is really close to my screen or paper all week drawing. Apparently the one farther from the screen wasn’t pulling its weight so the other is over-compensating. I hope this helps it from getting any worse! Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Simple and effective!
I found out about this app in Aileen Yi Fan’s book “Habits for Better Vision.” I’m an author so I’m looking at a computer screen for long hours each day. Since I’m trying to improve my vision naturally, this app helps me remember to take breaks and look away from my screen every 20 minutes. Simple to use and I like the color scheme/practical functionality.

It Does What It Says It Does
You want an app that tells you to look away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. It does that. I press the start button and then forget about which is exactly how basic it should be. You already know if you want this so just go for it!
DMT5217,
New user. Timer not resetting after hitting STOP
I am only giving three stars because I am happy with what this app proposes to do and I need it! But, either I don’t know how to use it or it’s not working as I think it should. When I set the 20 minute timer, it starts counting down. When I hit STOP, and then START again, the clock does not reset. It picks up from where it was when I stopped! It needs to reset back to 20 minutes.

They make you pay for the 20 second alarm but it doesn’t work! I know I did everything right because I set the 20 minute alarm but for some reason they don’t tell you when the 20 seconds is up. They need to fix this immediately I don’t want to have to count myself when I literally just paid for their alarm. If they fix this than it’s 5 stars but in this state there’s no reason why you wouldn’t just set your own alarm and count to 20 when it’s up.
