Description

This app was built for anyone living alone. It provides a way to make sure that if you don’t respond, others will be notified. Instead of relying on products that require you to press a button when you need help (think "I've fallen and I can't get up" commercial), isn't it better if someone is notified when you DON'T press a button? Introducing the EyeOn App.

* You can set your own schedule for the app to "check-in". You can set the days of the week, time of day…as many (or as few) as desired. For example, the app can ask if you are ok every hour, only in the mornings/evenings, or every other day.

* You will receive a push notification at the scheduled time(s). This notification will ask if you are ok. If you would rather receive a Text Message (SMS) check-in, please visit www.eyeonapp.com for details and pricing (US only).

* If you press "OK", then the alert is reset for the next scheduled time.

* If you fail to respond, then the app notifies up to 3 contacts by email. For Text Message (SMS) alerts to your contacts, please visit www.eyeonapp.com for more details and pricing (Worldwide numbers allowed).

* The contacts get a message stating that you have not responded and your last known location (location in email only). You can customize the email sent to your contacts to provide specific instructions.

* Reminders can also be scheduled. They are just that - a custom reminder. No response is required and we don't notify your contacts if you don't respond to a Reminder.

* Pause feature - you can pause the service for hours, days, or weeks if you don't want to be checked on during a movie, vacation, etc. This also works to skip the next check-in or check-in early.

When first installing, you will be prompted to complete the names, mobile phone numbers, and emails of the user and for each contact. Then simply set a schedule for check-in times.

IMPORTANT:

Push Notifications - on the initial setup you will be asked to allow EyeOn App to use Push Notifications. This is mandatory for the app to function, unless you opt for the Text Message (SMS) check-in (visit www.eyeonapp.com for more details).

Location - although this is not mandatory, we can provide your location inside the alert email to your care providers if you do not respond. It will be the location where you were the last time you opened the app (keeping constant location would reduce battery life). You will need to give EyeOn App permission to use your Location.

Timezones/Time Changes - EyeOn App adjusts for timezones and time changes when the app is opened. If you travel to a different timezone or have a time change, please open the app once for it to automatically correct to the new time.

Cancelation of Service - if you do decide to discontinue use of the service, please simply delete any Notifications you scheduled. If you delete the app without deleting the Notifications, it could take up to 24 hours for your account to be disabled and your contacts may receive false alerts during that time.

firebinder,
Easy to use, but few features
Very easy to use, and what it does it does very well. However, it lacks the ability to customize the email message to be sent if you do not respond. Other than that it's a great app for anyone who lives alone.
Christine1510,
It's great...when it works
I live alone and I just need a simple app that makes me check in every 12 hours or so, in order to notify my mom to come feed my cats if I die in the middle of the night or something. I feel so much better knowing that she'll be notified sooner rather than later if something happens to me. Unfortunately, this app is quite glitchy and sometimes stops sending me notifications to check in (common after a phone update), which means either my mom gets a false scare that I didn't check in (it's happened about 20x now in the year that I've had it) or it doesn't send anyone a notification and just stops working! Then I have to reinstall the app and it starts working again. I wish it was a more reliable app. I also wish there was an option to notify contacts after a different time increment of not checking in, like 2 hours as opposed to 30 minutes. Sometimes I am driving during check in and can't get to it within 30 min. However, it's still the best app for this purpose as it's simple and easy to use and doesn't have added junk I don't need.
crcjstc,
Not reliable
Update: Yet again the selected time has come and the app has not alerted me to check in. If the check in feature is not reliable the app is completely useless. This keeps happening on occasion and it only takes one time for it to be disastrous. Funny that after so much time this company can’t fix this simple issue. Hopefully they are coming out with the update they promised, which there is still no sign of, where there is a much greater range of features and check in options, including being personally contacted for people who have no family and no friends. There are many like that Original post: The app does not reliably alert me when it is supposed to. Many nights I will not realize until it’s too late that it has notified my contacts. Another major problem of this app is that apparently, once it has notified your contacts it will not repeat the next day. That feature becomes deactivated. That is a major problem and flawed design. It should notify your contacts every single day until they check on you.
singing photographer,
Excellent for those who live alone!
This app makes me feel safer. Without bothering my son all the time, he can know if I am in trouble. It’s very easy to set up the notifications. It reminds me when it’s time to check in. If I don’t check in after two reminders, then he is notified. So I feel like I am less of a burden. And he feels better knowing I am safe.
The best feature is the customer service. After one update, I had a problem. I contacted the developer, and they immediately contacted me back. They explained how to fix the problem, and it worked beautifully. Having such quick quick and accurate response is worth everything.
Cedargreentree,
Easy to Use: Excellent Support
I was initially surprised at how simple this app is but have come to appreciate that as a feature.

What made me a big fan, however, was the support team’s very quick response to my query about a glitch that happened when my iPhone iOS updated. They responded almost immediately, suggested a workaround while they fixed the glitch, and completed the fix without delay.
J.Val.,
Works fine
There were some issues initially with multiple pop ups asking if I was okay, but this was responded to and fixed pretty quickly by the developer so now it works fine. Definitely gives me peace of mind knowing others will be contacted if I don’t respond to the notice.
TheRealElDuderino,
Buy the App
At first I had a problem with the app because I wasn’t exactly sure how to use it. The instructions could be better. However, the App Team was really good, and patient, at helping me to get it set up and working correctly. I would recommend buying this app.
Bhamhere,
Great customer service
With the new update I had a few issues. They gave me step by step instructions how to fix it. No waiting they were right on it. I use this app morning and night. It texts my son in 30 minutes if I don’t respond to the app.
Nay Az,
I like this app
This app does what I need it to do. It gives me peace of mind, since I live alone. I’m worried about falling, or having a stroke and no one finding me fit days. With this set for 8 am and 8 pm at least I know it won’t be more than 12 or so hours. Thank you so much.
L.More,
It... does the job
It does what it claims to do, in a minimal sort of way.

I am baffled that it does not present actionable notifications! Instead of simply pressing the notification to acknowledge it, you have to open the app - on the phone - wait for it to prompt you, then acknowledge. It’s such a small change, and it would make such a huge difference. E.g., Apple Watch support would come almost for free.

Some flexibility in the “window” for prompt acknowledgements would be nice- right now it’s fixed at half an hour.

Please look into making the notifications present while CarPlay is active too - I almost missed one while driving.
