I am an almost 12 year old girl writing this review. This is so depressing. It’s sad honestly. I am a human being and I deserve privacy! This is violating everything! Parents, how would you like it if I went through all your messages and pictures and anything you do on your phone, and got to access it from mine? Am I some kind of animal in a zoo?!! Do you not trust me?! Am I bad kid?!? Now, the only privacy I have is pen and paper, and who knows you’re probably looking through that too. If you are a parent looking to download this for your kid, I hope you’re happy you are violating all of your trust you’ve built up with your kid. Now your kid has extreme trust issues, and they’ll never look at you the same again. :) like me. Human beings deserve the basic right to not think there’s someone watching you over your shoulder all the time. Creepy? And as you access all of your kids private stuff with a smile, just think about how your kid is feeling. Don’t even give the kid a phone at that point! Coming from a kid like me, please just don’t! Do you value your child’s mental well-being?

invasion of privacy
i am literally about to be 16 years old and my parents have a need to have this app? at this point it’s completely wrong to be looking over your teens shoulder who will be out of the house soon. this doesn’t make a kid teen or a kid trust their parent with anything. They can see my texts and pictures which i do not accept. i am paranoid about everything i do on my phone. at this point don’t even give a teenager a phone if you’re just going to have this app.. and the fact this app goes up all the way to the age of 18 is insane, by the time a kid hits at least the age 12-13 their parents should no longer be able to even be using this app on their phone and the fact they have my exact location and they go crazy whenever it says i’m somewhere else. and the some of the words that trigger the app is completely out of pocket..MOST of the words aren’t even bad to say yet it still alerts the app. boundaries and trust between teens and their parents are bound to be broken with this app.

False blocking - updating not working
I'll get notifications that I need to tap the notification to update the app yet when I do it doesn't work. This freaks the app out and false blocks stuff of my phone. At this point its completely useless to use my phone when nothing works.
Its way too restricting and even simple little things like listening to music doesn't work. I am absolutely disgusted that any parent, let alone my parent would download this app for children. If you are a parent and think that this may be a good alternative DO NOT pay for this. The price is ridiculous for an app that practically doesn't work.

Honest opinion (from the child)
I have had this app for a while, sharing it with my mom, who watches me to whatever and get every single text I send or get. It always “disconnects” from my phone telling my mom that I need to “reconnect” and that I have to switch FamiSafe back on. Yet, half the time it is on, and I can’t even get to setting to change it. On my iPad , it won’t connect to VPN so I currently have no apps other then the generic ones that start with the device. I have tried many things to get it to connect to VPN. A lot of other complaints I have aren’t SPECIFICALLY from the app, my parents just have the option and use it to their advantage. This app has definitely effected me aswell as my bond with my parents. Yes, I know it might be because I’m an “emotional teen” and don’t get to make all the decisions, but for any parents.. majority of kids will despise this app.

This app truly is the worst. Parents don’t install this on your child’s device, please just use the screen time limits in settings instead. This app checks all of your child’s search history and photos to protect them sure, but what does it do with it then? Your child has pictures faces of people the care about right? What does this app do with those faces? Heck, they probably have screenshots of passwords let’s be honest. Plus this app takes up a whole bunch of unnecessary data than it’s worth, and is impossible to uninstall. Also this app will lower your child self esteem. Imagine that your child’s friend asks if they can see their phone, but they have this app. An app that basically has dishonesty and embarrassment written all over it. Your kid isn’t gonna want their friends to see that! So please, if you really love your child DON’T install this app.

of my privacy is being invaded. of course im not doing anything bad, but it just feels uncomfortable to know that EVERYTHING you see on your phone, your parents get too. im not 10yrs old anymore and i know how to be safe on the internet and social media. but of course my parents insist on being controlling and i’m not allowed to have any kind of socials. if you’re a parent seeing this and you’ve downloaded this app for your kid, congrats. your child now has extreme trust issues and may never look at you the same way again. and how are us kids supposed to “gain trust” from you parents again? yeah i guess the app may seem “helpful” to some parents, but think about it, it’s 👏 just 👏 creepy 👏. don’t get this app for your kid, they’ll hate you. and if you are a kid, my sympathy goes out to you.

i have never hated downloading an app more. when my father informed me that i would be downloading this, i had no idea what it was. i still don’t know what all they can do through this app. i am currently in the midst of a panic attack, due to fear of my parents finding any and everything on my phone. kids, DO NOT GET THIS. RUN FAR AWAY FROM IT. and parents who are making your kids get this, i hope you know that some extreme boundaries and trust was broken when my parents made me install this. steer SO FAR AWAY from this app. it’s essentially removing all privacy on your phone/device. congrats kid, the only private space you have now is pen and paper. have ats. to all the other teenagers who are being forced to download this, i am right here with you, and i’m sorry.

VPN could not connect so phone is not usable
Purchased the software 3 days ago and installed on my kids iPhones. For the first 3 days it worked as expected. This morning, one of my kids phone was not usable as the software locked every down on her phone. This was due to the software not being able to enable the associated VPN connection. Tried using WiFi and the phones data plan to get a connection and even turned the phone off and on a few times in hopes of fixing the issue. No luck so had to fully uninstall the software to get the phone so it was usable again.
Wanted to cancel the subscription today which is the fourth day but they only allow for a 3 day free trial. Got charged the full annual fee.

from the whole app then I would try
to go back in and it would log me
out of my whole account. This app
makes your whole phone SLOW. If
your parent set a screen time limit it
WONT even give you a heads up
saying "5 minutes left". Its so
annoying because I would be
listening to music or having a
conversation and it would just say
"screen time limit is up" then when I
try to go back in and everything
gets all glitchy. The app makes me
feel like If I do one thing wrong I will
have a really bad consequence. It
also makes me feel untrustworthy of
my parents. Then I see other people
being able to be free and FaceTime
there friends and make plans to
hangout and I'll be just watching
them have fun while my screen time
is all used up. When I'm on my
phone the app causes me to have

Avoid! Avoid! Please, avoid!
It had potential but lacks control power. Totally useless for our needs—-we need more specific customizations for a broad variety of apps. There was also a huge lag between the time I had altered settings (such as allowing more time) and the device being updated.

They have set up their cancellation/refund policy so that they don’t have to give out any refunds. Read what reasons are not acceptable and what would qualify for a cancel-refund. Lame.
I cancelled less than 24 hours of the monthly subscription that was purchased on the 22nd of November. I followed their guidance by contacting support through the account.
Since then, I have had nonstop back and forth communication with their support team asking for an egregious amount of information.
I believe that they’re making this process painful for the purchaser/user, as a greedy business tactic $$$. —that is downright nasty.
….and my patience has run out. Thus, turning my focus on posting reviews about my experience.
